So, I've got this tune I downloaded with misleading info tags, one of my DJ buddies recognized it when I dropped it in my set, told me what it was and now I've forgotten, lol. I know it's an older tune, it's slow, around 120 bpms, with an arpeggiated octave bassline, and some pretty harsh sounding synth strings. The lyrics go something like "I am, under control, I am under control of the mighty force, keep on (something something) through the magnetic force, somebody help me get off this damn white horse..."
Anybody?
Cuz I'd actually like to buy it.

I know it's unlikely that christsmasher is still hanging around the board, or still wonders what this song is, but I thought I'd dig this up for fun. The song is "Control" by Artist Unknown. It's from 1999, so it's not 80s, but it's a really cool synth tune. If you're in the mood, give it a try.

That was my guess. Artist Unknown are a German duo, the album that this song appears on, "Future", came out in 2000.
