Marv's been a great communicator and I think he can do a good job helping to keep things in order. Unfortunately, I've noticed that being a moderator seems to be a thankless job on this board, but I for one appreciate everything that they do to keep trollish disruptions to a minimum. Blir was excellent and more than earned his retirement.

There are many others I think would make a good mod, but we can't have too many kommissars in the kitchen![:D] I welcome everyone's input regarding future moderators, especially if we ever need to call for back-up. I know not everyone's up to the task, and for the most part it's this often volatile NNNW section that needs the most looking after.

I'll be the first! THANK YOU MODS! (then came the sound of one person clapping.....turning into hundreds then thousands) Shine on you crazy diamonds! Don't worry Marv, I'm not going anywhere.
Oh, actually, I would have hit 5000 already but lost a few hundred posts a while back.

I find it interesting that the 3 current mods (other than our Prez) are from Long Island. Talk amongst yourselves......

What's the album cover that had a vespa with the huge grill on it? (i.e. very Mod-like vespa with the rearview mirrors, flags, lights, etc)

Mod, rocker, mocker...no - Marv's a Teddy boy.

From the Teddy Boy's website:

The clothing that the Teddyboys wore was designed to shock their parents' generation. The trademark drape jacket was not as impractical as it seems. Not only did it act as a badge of recognition but, as it was made of woollen cloth with lots of pockets, its kept it's owner warm as he hung around in the street and was also good at concealing weapons and alcohol.

Congrats on the upgrade Marv!!!
