I use itunes but there are several things that musicmatch is better at- tagging tracks. I love that feature!
With itunes, I still haven't found a good way to add the files to my library without duplicating the tracks all the time.
It's killing me[:(!] but, while I'm getting better (thanks blir!) I'm no computer whiz either!

In Order of Preference:

1) Winamp (Best overall functionality IMO - The MMD3 Skin ROCKS!)
2) iTunes (Starting to grow on me)
3) WMP 10 (Getting better with each newer version)

I used Music Match for a long, long time. I've really grown to resent it. I hate the constant updates, the suprises when you try to burn a disc & it won't let you because of yet another update....

I've begun to use Windows Media Player to simply listen to music & Roxio for recording. I tag music myself & organize it myself.

Primarily Windows Media Player, unless Marv or Gary St post a tune, then I have to dig out iTunes.[}:)]

I use iTunes. I used to use Windows Media Player, but it had nasty habit of seizing up in the middle of a CD burn, requiring me to reboot the computer and trashing the CD. I never got the hang of Winamp. I only use Nero when I want to copy an entire CD to a blank disk--it's good for that and I do it when I burn a bunch of the same CD for the compilation exchange.

Mostly now I use iTunes, which I like because I can search and sort my songs by so many different criteria (by title, by artist, by genre, by album, by the date of last play, etc.). I also use iTunes because I have an iPod. A good thing about iTunes is that it now plays the pesky MPGA format! Previous versions of iTunes would not play MPGAs (Randy and I lamented this many months ago).

I call it Ryan Amp.

It is the most decked out version of Winamp you can have. Customized, Entirely cutsom and external plugins from all across the board converge in this player. It has customized EVERYTHING and can play more than 30 file types from consoles, proprietary video games. It rips and burns everything in high speed- and I never paid a cent for it.

Trouble is-
ITS UNSTABLE AS HELL!!

It freezes, it blows up, it does all that crazy crash-related stuff.... a lot.

Also works with ipod. It can record internet radio. It can play VSTi coded MIDIs and the like. It also suppors Sidplay, Audio Scrobbler...plays DVDs, VCDs, and everything.
Its pretty visious (when it works).
Its too unstable for real practical use, but I work with it a lot-

Every new remake of the thing (courtesy of mostly my internet buddies) is more stable than the last- so eventually I'll have one- that works properly.

Its the sound and feeling of a mutual lust fest between two 15 year olds. "what, no smoking?"
