Oh yeah I came in here to mention Colin Moulding. I like when he sings. I usually like when the other guy sings. I like the couple of Noel Redding songs on Jimi's albums.

And Dave Davies of the Kinks is a MUCH better singer than his brother Ray. Someday I will marry Dave...[;)]

10cc were the best I think at swapping lead vocals. All four of them took turns and they all sounded great.

I suppose Fleetwood Mac deserves a mention...

Yes, Paul Humphries from OMD sang some of their bigger hits (Souvineer, Forever Live and Die, Secret) -probably to Andy McCluskeys chagrin...

I think its interesting how much the "other" singer in a band sounds so much like the lead singer (OMD NOT included).....

It always irked me that Paul Humphries didn't get to sing more as I think he had a better voice than Andy. Same with Eddy Lundon of China Crisis. I always enjoyed Paul Rutherfords vocal on FGTH's "Black Night White Light" from their debut album too.

As a lad, I never really knew which one of the Tears for Fears guys were singing, and i saw them at least 5 times through the 80's...To much grass [:(]
I remember seeing Night Ranger in concert and realizing halfway through that the drummer was singing.... Did i just admit to seeing Night Ranger? [:(]

Don't feel to bad, Ben...I'm guilty of going to a Billy Squier concert in '83. WTF was I thinking? His little jig during "My Kinda Lover" smartened me up to the level of drekkiness he was capable of.

Back on topic...

Most of the Beach Boys songs were sung by Mike Love, but some of their best were sung by Brian Wilson (Caroline No) or Carl Wilson (Good Timing)

It was nice of Paul Weller to let Bruce Foxton sing "Smithers-Jones" on [i]Setting Sons[/i]. IIRC, that's his only lead vocal.

However, I really think that Joe and Mick should have only let Paul Simenon sing on "The Guns of Bwixton". His performances on "The Cwooked Beat" and "Wed Angew Dwagnet" were merely embarrassing.
