Any Passions fans?? Probably best known for their "I'm In Love With A German Filmstar" and maybe "Passenger" their LP's are well worth seeking out. I mangaed to find one on CD (their lasy I believe with that track on it) and the Michael and Miranda LP. Classic early 80s post-punk, with some nice introduction of synths as they evolved.

They may have even has another LP, I am not sure. Too lazy to whip out my Trouser Press volumes

Just played "30,000 Feet Over China" a couple of days ago. The only thing that's really held up for me is "...Filmstar....". A classic single perfectly suited to Barbara Gogan's approach. I still play it whenever I get the chance to DJ. To me, the songwriting wears thin pretty fast on the LP, even though it's more or less a compilation rather than a purpose built album. Still, it's got some fine moments and I enjoy the guitar playing quite a bit.

besides michael and miranda there's as mentioned 30,000 feet over china from 1981 and sanctuary from 1982. all 3 lp's have been gather dust on my hard drive/cdr's/dvdr's.

1981baby, how about we swap a CD-R for a CD-R?? I am interested in Sanctuary if it is a nice clean copy, and maybe I have something you need??

I love, love , love Sanctuary. A friend put in on cd for me. I do have an albumn and I'm in love with a German FilmStar is on a compilation Alternative eighties cd.

i'll send you a sample of the 192 bitrate rip i have. i'm going to get another copy off another individual with it and i'll send that if it sounds better.

Clare Grogan was in Altered Images.

I think the single "Sanctuary" is a classic. I haven't been able to find their album for awhile, I need to re-purchase it.

I gave sanctuary to a friend 22 years ago and just got it back this year! Great song! Brings back alot of memories. [:D]

I have two songs from a very old cassette.Excellent early stuff from the Passions titled " I Radiate + The Story " .I concur with others regarding the overall opinions. Very good band !

don't know if you will see this our check your email first but i need to know before aboout 9 am est:

blue trapeze - mask & marquee (1985) (cali jangle pop remeniscent of miracle legion circa songs like "everything's rosy now")

che - narcotic (1989) & single what you've been through is love "1983" (this is modern eon's lead singer's solo project. haven't listened to the single but narcotic has that pop will eat itself & a certain ratio

dancing cigarettes - the secret school of music & gulcher records (live & unreleased material). (the secret school of music is a criminally underlooked album. i don't know quite how to catergorize them but let's say punkish alternating male and female vocals depending on the song over new wave music with synths & a sax. "burn in heaven" is the best use of a sax in a new wave song ever imo)

nervous gender - music from hell beelzebub youth (criminally overlooked synth punk classic)

shock headed peters - i, bloodbrother be ep (you know the deal on them and someone mentioned this as one of the greatest overlooked singles of all time in the whatever happened to section so i threw it in)

the del-byzantines - lies to live by (new york new wave band. think the vapors on songs like "i can't talk anymore" or "liberty hall". they have more synths though.)

urban guerillas - darwins theory of pelvic revolution (great minnesota new wave/ post punk)

world domination enterprises - let's play domination (criminally overlooked leeds post punk meets dance/ acid house. think apb or age of chance with TONS of primus style bass. i've seen this listed twice in top 100 80's albums lists.)

xex - group xex (another synthy new wave overlooked gem boarding on electronica

before i burn it let me know if you already have any of these things, since there's other stuff i could replace them with.
