Wow...I would've never guessed so many others are farmiliar with this band.....

I have both the Sanctuary and 30,000 Feet lps - - both are great. No argument on "German Film Star" either; if they did nothing but release that one, they'd still be brilliant in my book.

I too am only familiar with the brilliant "German Film Star.....". I need to hear more. Barbara Gogan is still very much involved in the music world and occasionally tours under different monikers. If I remember correctly her most active project is called Goldfish.

I love that album. They're the ones responsible for "Asbestos Led Asbestos" which was redone in the 90's by Meat Beat Manifesto. WDE's crunchy, bass-heavy and highly amusing cover of "Funkytown" is a personal fave of mine.

Why didn't this band have more than one hit? "30,000 feet" is a wonderful album with some should-have-been hits. "Bachelor girls" is my favorite from this release. The band hit their high point with their final LP "Sanctuary". Not a bad song to be found, and some of the best of the genre: "Hold on don't go", "Your friend", and the original UK LP remix of "Jump for joy". That song should have had some chart success. The band's debut LP "Michael and Miranda" is a harder album. A bit unmelodic post-punk. That's not to say it's not good. I enjoy it. "Oh no, it's you" is a highlight. I was lucky enough to get the now rare CD's of "30,000 feet" and their compilation "Passion Plays" when they first come out on CD. Highly recommended.

Glad you like the songs Panorama, we're trying to get all the stuff re-released but the record companies aren't being helpful.

Seems like the record company could digitize the music and make it available on iTunes -- it would not cost "that much" to do that, and then we could buy it in a high quality format.

I know Photography is not the same as recording music, but there are some similarities -- creativity, energy, artistic expression and all... god knows I wish there was a way to track all the uses of my photographs and get paid royalties each time they are used, but that's the world we live in.

"Passenger"??? Sorry, what's that when it's at home? The Banshees did a cover of Iggy Pop's "The Passenger", maybe that's where you're getting confused. The Passions certainly didn't ever do a song called "Passenger".
