I listen to the likes of COLDPLAY (I don't like their Videos though, very monotonous, and mainly features Chris Martin), TRAVIS, and KEANE. I personally think they're good.
Same goes with the earlier bands Popsicle, Radiohead, & Suede...

It warms my heart to hear it. Of course, any small blurb like this will oversimplify things. I take particular exception to hearing that grunge somehow begat things like rap-metal. I'm one of those proponents of grunge and think it was pretty pure element

Check out Freezepop and Robots In Disguise. There's a ton of great new synth-pop out there. The Magnetic Fields (who've been around since 1989) are drigting more and more into that direction and you should really check out Laptop.

Yeah, I've known this for a looong time, then again, I'm in a band like that, lol. It's good for us, but some people still don't "get it". I, personally think it's a natural progression and a nice integration of new technology with actual songwriting.

Not only am I obsessed with the 80s new wave, but I'm totally all about this new wave of new wave and synthpop music. It tickles me pink.

I really love some of the new new wave/synthpop. I think today's bands are doing amazing things with the music, but in the true style of 80s music. Freezepop is my favorite of all these new synthpop bands, as I thnink their sound is original and authent

I love Interpol, The Faint, Fischerspooner, Ladytron, etc.
Freezepop = yummy goodness. I saw them live for about 3 songs when they played here in Philly. Then I had to take over for another DJ in another room and missed the rest of their performance.
