Whoa...where is Iain Slater of APB?? He belongs at/near the top of this list.

With Adam Clayton missing from the list, I'll go with Bruce Foxton for being with the Jam back in the day and later kicking up a racket with Stiff Little Fingers.

Of those on your poll, Flea.

My personal opinion is Missing Persons' Patrick O'Hearn. OK- was he the "greatest" bass player? Probably not- but tremendously underrated in my opinion (also a big Zappa fan, so pretty partial to Pat).

O'Hearn, like MP drummer Terry Bozzio are two guys that don't get their due by the rank and file when it comes to listing the tops at their respective instruments.

I had to register on this forum to just express my outrage at the omission of Mick Karn and Derek Forbes from this list. Outside of being two phenomenally talented technical players, they contributed some of the most rhythmic, melodic, and grooviest basslines of that entire period.

Anyhow first time post. Hope to get to know many of you better.
