Welcome to the new forum!
If you are a previously registered user, you must do the following:

2) Enter your username and email you registered with and submit

The Perfect Song

It starts out with a long reverse echo.
It has guitar chords...kind of a cross between italo and new wave.
Its dark and kinda moody-

Its painfully rare. Its the middle track on the impossibly rare second album of a band that never charted....

Its long...and has this long winding synthesizer solo.

Its freaking awesome.
I believe it exists...I am trying to find it...thats why Im builidng my New Wave/Italo/Retro/Disco databases....

But this song is really melodic...and painfully rare.
Comes from a band thats so mysterious it hurts.

Somebody help me think of a signature.

You crazy. However, I love "Time Stand Still". It closely resembles the Rock "spirit" of Van Hagar's "Dreams" (another fukken schweet tune).

I know they are not new wave but hutter has a good point. Rush has a few songs that could be called perfect. These guys put so much thought into their work that its scary.
Queens b.r. is a great one also.

Equating anything by Van Hagar with ANYTHING good qualifies you for a lifetime pass to the happy home. Hagar killed one of my favorite bands. [V]

I like that song. The rest can be subpar to when Dave fronted the band, but "Dreams" is actually one of my favourite VH songs[}:)]

I think I'm with egg-roger here. Back in the 80s, this was just a pretty song with an odd time signature to me. Now the song also helps me make decisions when I need to break the status quo.

"Solsbury Hill" is indeed an amazing song, and fits my criteria of heaving, panting perfection as described above.

Here's another nominee for a perfect song. These folks are far from my favorites, but they hit the right nerve with this one, IMO.(Kind of strange how Fred sings lyrics that would have been more appropriate for a straight guy to sing in this song...makes it that much funnier)
