World Cup Soccer

Postby coop41 » Thu Jun 08, 2006 7:37 am

I know I'm not the only fan, just had our office drawing for our World Cup pool, who do you think will win and who will you be rooting for???

Obviously, rooting for USA as they have their best team probably ever, unfortunately they are in a tough pool they might not make it out of and I don't think anyone will beat Brazil. I'll be cheering for England because of watching so many EPL games, hopefully they can make it out of pool play without Rooney (they should). Mexico is playing well and Germany should give a strong showing, my dark horse is Cote d'Iviore! What about you?

I know most of you could care less, will you watch any of it? Does it have any of that Olympic feeling?

I'm rooting for Brazil. Brazilians are cool. Wait, does Norway have a team? I'll root for them if they do.

I'll be in Croatia visting the lovely Dalmatian Coast during the World Cup, so I'll be rooting for the Croats to avoid being killed.

So why do the Croatian unis look like a red and white checkered flag, instead of like a dalmation? [:o)]

Norway has a team, unfortunately they will probably be playing Uganda in a friendly while the World Cup is going on since they didn't qualify. Ha, a friendly, It's scary, I'm even got the stupid lingo down. I need to go to a baseball game!!!

See your teams here on this bright shiny map:

We would have our shot if Brazil didn't exist as a country but...

... we all know that [xx(][8D][xx(] is gonna win.

Couldn't tell you. I'm going to go steal a tablecloth from an Italian restaurant and tie it around my neck so I can fit in.

England. We did invent the game after all. That said, I hate football (soccer) with a passion and will be doing everything I can to avoid the World Cup "fever".

I don't get the appeal. Especially the rioting.

Fun fun fun! And all over a wussied knock-off of REAL Football (you know, the one with the tackling, near decapitations and John "Fast acting Tinactin" Madden).

Hey, I'm looking forward to it even if most games will have total scores of less than 3! But, hey, at least the sport lives up to its name: FOOTball.[:D]

And Hutter: as much as I enjoy NFL action, you have to admit that rugby could kick American football's ass and then some. Rugby has chunks of American football in its stool!

I find soccer to be exceedingly boring, but one game I'd watch would be a U.S.A. vs. Iran matchup. Anyone know if this could be a possibility?
