<br>Interesting that most of these names sound more punk-oriented than new wave to me. I guess that means, most of you would be in a punk bank.

Not me. Straight up rock 'n' roll. Dueling lead guitars, bass, and drums. That's it.

heh.

I actually started a band a couple months ago called "NewState" ---It sounded (the actual sound of the band - cuz I tend to play my guitar like Peter Hook plays bass) -- alot like New Order and I realised the whole project was too derivative, and stopped it

My 1'st bands name: "the Plywood Staircases" Mid 80's. Had songs called, Chainsaw your Love, Elvis in a box... We were local burn out phenoms at the time.

Here's my "band" from 1981. It was just me. I made the video last year but tried to make it look retro

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kD9qzrilBY0

The first "real" band I was in was called "Borax Thorax & the Quick Trips To Hell". We never practiced, we never played a show. But the name was too cool to let go.

I have had a punk band since 1984 called The Ed Gein Fan Club.

I am currently working on resurrecting The Trapezoids, as well as a synthpunk art project called The Chinamen.

I have been playing in bands non-stop since 1984. It's turned into more of a curse than a dream!

I went to your Chinamen site and watched this before ---love it...awesome....

the split screen with the lead and bass being played is the best...

What? No one mentioned the Gucci Coochies yet?[:D]

My new wave band was gonna be called "The Ultraviolet", turned out there really was a band called this right here in my own hometown. Oh well. It lead to other classics as

The Group Sextet
Tuesday Night Karaoke (see that way when we were advertised oh you get the idea)
The Jon Benet Sartre Experience
The Media Whores
Fartbox (named after the Kinks distorted amp that was their signature original sound)

and more currently
Five Star Johnson
Krustache Paradox
The Tom Jonners
The Johnny Galecki Trio

I'm voting for Krustache Paradox myself...

My real band's name (1988-1991 on and off) was Second Class Citizens. Available wherever finer backyard gatherings and streetcorners were found.

If I had it to do all over again, I'd stick with that (and no doubt get sued by my old bandmates for rights to the name -- isn't that always just the way?). Perhaps Third Class Citizens, since I'm even less talented now.
