Although I promised to engage Quite Life in a scriptural debate I've decided, after being reminded of the Pope thread and how trying to reason with him was like bashing your head against a brick wall, that it would be fruitless. I will leave him with one scripture that I thought was very fitting.
(Matthew 7:6) “Do not give what is holy to dogs, neither throw YOUR pearls before swine, that they may never trample them under their feet and turn around and rip YOU open.

OK, I couldn't resist, one more-
(Matthew 7:15-20) “Be on the watch for the false prophets that come to YOU in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves. 16 By their fruits YOU will recognize them. Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they? 17 Likewise every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit; 18 a good tree cannot bear worthless fruit, neither can a rotten tree produce fine fruit. 19 Every tree not producing fine fruit gets cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Really, then, by their fruits YOU will recognize those [men].

QL, all you have spread is a gospel of hate that has done nothing to draw people closer to better understanding Jesus or his message. But you'll never understand that becasue that is what being self-righteous does to a person.

Devo- if you saw my files, you would not ever stop throwing up! Actually I'm on the hub. I dont go all the time but I'm there.

Jesus taught some great stuff. And man has used them for his own purposes. People use gods name for war of all things! The crusades? That was the ultimate. But not all christians follow the poe around like sheep.

No sign of QL? I'm betting we won't hear from him for a while. If I recall, last time he didn't post for a long period after offending everyone.

<br>Bible believing reformed Christianity is not about being self-righteous as you claim, but just the opposite.
I don't claim that Bible believing Christians (of which I am one, your arrogant judgements notwithstanding) are self-righteous. I claim that YOU are self-righteous. You dismiss those of dissimilar crede and politics as "cultists" and "Jesus haters" while proclaiming your own "saved in Christ" status. You presume to represent my belief in salvation as requiring something other than the Atonement of Jesus Christ. WRONG. Listen up, my born-again buddy, you are NOT qualified to judge the beliefs of other sincere Christians (and no, neither YOU nor your church get to decide who are the true followers of Christ) no matter how much vile, distorted propaganda you have heard/read.
No my mormon friend and listen up it is not just me, but I am in community with millions of bible beleiving evangelicals reformed or not who beleive thet the Morman church is satantic. Here are a list of churches that beleive your church is sending people to hell. The Orthodox Presbyterian Church, The Presbyterisn Church in America, The Lutherean Church MU Synod, The Southern Baptist Church, The Evangelical Free Church, The Reformed Church US, Calvery Chapel, and many more.

my 2 cents...

I was raised Catholic, but I am not particuarly religious. However I don't look down on people who are...religion is generally a good thing, with a few exceptions...mainly the hard religious right in this country really pisses me off. I find many fundamentalist Baptists to be very condescending...basically life begins when you agree with them. I have no use for people like that. I also have no use for any of the people that had a "life" sticker taped over thier mouths while the Terri Shiavo fiasco was going on. Please. One more, anyone who is a single issue voter (see abortion), or anyone who voted for Bush just based on the fact that he is super religious. Never mind that he is an incompetent idiot...at least he loves God! Spare me.

To Abacb66 and Egg-Roger,

Egg first of all your definition and the biblical definition they we bible Christians hold to in regards of the substitutionary atonement are two totally different things. I would recommend reading full expositions on the subject by Leon Morris called "Apostolic Preaching of the Cross" or John Murray's "Redemption Accomplished and Applied" to get and idea that we have two different definitions of the atonement.

Here are some of our standards from the Westminster Confession of Faith

WCF 8:5 "The Lord Jesus, by his perfect obedience, and sacrifice of himself, which he, through the eternal Spirit, once offered up unto God, hath fully satisfied the justice of his Father; and purchased, not only reconciliation, but an everlasting inheritance in the kingdom of heaven, for all those whom the Father hath given unto him."

WCF 11:3 "Christ, by his obedience and death, did fully discharge the debt of all those that are thus justified, and did make a proper, real, and full satisfaction to his Father's justice in their behalf. Yet, inasmuch as he was given by the Father for them; and his obedience and satisfaction accepted in their stead; and both, freely, not for anything in them; their justification is only of free grace; that both the exact justice and rich grace of God might be glorified in the justification of sinners."

Here are some very reliable sources that give very good information on Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and Roman Catholicism. This stiff accurate and reliable!

I am also getting books from the source books from Mormons at the Mormon temple in Oakland and books from Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall Church. From what I understand they too are intolerant against other churches and liberal ideologies like homosexualality. If so then I will them mussel your churches' position against your personal preferences and positions that may militate against your own churches. I will then hard ball you to make a decision so you won't appear to be double minded serving the world and serving your cult, it will be one or the other. Since you appear to have two masters we're cut it down to one.

I don't think people are necessarily bashing any particular religions beliefs per se. I think it's more a reaction against
people you come across that represent those religions poorly by way of extremeism, judgementalism, or practice i.e. t.v. evangelists that swindle, don't practice what they preach, or priests that molest. I've always thought a religion should be judged on the basis of its willingness to be tolerant of other religions beliefs. The more you judge and disparage others, the uglier you come across.[?]

If I could buy my reasoning,
I would pay to lose
