Looking for rare Midge Ure

Does anyone have the Midge Ure solo version of Do They Know It's Christmas? I saw a video years ago (I think it was a best of Ultravox and Ure) where they played just a clip of the song.

You're referring to Midge's demo track as seen on "Answers: A Musical Biography". Midge also plays a bit of a version with only Midge & Sting on vocals on the recent Band Aid retrospective. As far as I know, they have never been released in any other way (and I have pretty much everything ever recorded by Midge).

Here's a Midge rarity. "Come The Day", aka theme from the film "Class of 1999" (the song plays over the end credits). It has yet to be released any other way that I know of.

Just wondering if there is somebody else on this board who thinks Breathe is his best album (was that the title? you know what I'm referring to). Not that it's got the best songs but it's the only one I can listen to from start to finish.

[/quote]Yes, Breathe is an almost perfect album (I could do without "Sinnerman"). I bought 5 copies when it came out for various friends (whom had never heard of Midge Ure before) and it was universally praised.

Yay! I'm not alone. And yes, he shouldn't have written Cinammon in the first place. Guns and Arrows just blows me away everytime I listen. That chick's voice just reaches deep down my soul.

James "Midge" Ure...

Best track ..."Just for you"
Worst track..."Cold cold heart"
Best 12" "Dear God"
Best 7" "No regrets"
Best Live track- "Strange brew"
Best Collaboration-Visage-highlites Fade to grey, Visa-Age
Worst collaboration- Mick Karn "After a fashion"
Best instrumental-" mOOD mUSIC

BREATHE- significantly marked a change in his following. Many fans turned away from his folk/celtic/roots sound.

Listen to track 10 on this
