Nways, life in Dubai= I'm still enjoying a tax-free lifestyle, skyscrapers are still sprouting everywhere, and some local guys still do not know what the word "underwear" means!!![:D]

Ok, back to the topic... I only have 1 thing to say/ask- Why the hell does RELIGION (or the lack of it) matter that much to some people??? That's just pathetic. Fact= Some people are simply EVIL by nature- whether they be Christians, Muslims, or Atheists, etc.!!! Right? right! Now, please excuse me while I go get some ice cream...[:p]

Contemporary Christian Music really does suck!!!
It is never inovative and is at least 15-20 years behind todays pop stuff

To help offset some of the psychotic drivel in this thread, here's something for the "brights" among us:

From http://www.ethicalatheist.com

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS(OF THE ETHICAL ATHEIST)
NOTE: Freethought and tolerance obviously prohibit these from being "commandments"! Just consider them "suggestions".

1. Thou SHALT NOT believe all thou art told.
2. Thou SHALT seek knowledge and truth constantly.
3. Thou SHALT educate thy fellow man in the Laws of Science.
4. Thou SHALT NOT forget the atrocities committed in the name of
god.
5. Thou SHALT leave valuable contributions for future generations.
6. Thou SHALT live in peace with thy fellow man.
7. Thou SHALT live this one life thou hast to its fullest.
8. Thou SHALT follow a Personal Code of Ethics.
9. Thou SHALT maintain a strict separation between Church and
State.
10. Thou SHALT support those who follow these commandments.

Love,
Motors

Motors you shouldn't push your religion on others. [;)]

As far a code of personal ethics go what are they? And who's to say you next-door neighbor has a better code? What's your arbitrary standard of code of ethics?

Your 10 commandments maybe good for you but not for me, says the moral relativist.

Do you follow these laws perfectly? If not is there a penalty for not following them? If so what are the sanctions? Is there hope for those who are not perfect in following your arbitrary atheist laws?

If you’re an athiest why have laws? Isn't lawlessness more consistent with atheism?

Why burden your fellow Athiest with your 10 commandments of atheism? Is your 10 commandments of atheism the absolute standard? If so then why? If not why should anyone care about your 10 commandments. If atheism is so as you are so pushy and dogmatic in you proclamation their of, then why should we follow these laws.

No way. Are you serious? I only posted that to mock all this quote spouting silliness - it was the closest I could get to your rulebook quotes since atheists don't NEED a rulebook. Of course I would never follow some arbitrary bullshit standard - especially #6, which I consider to be imposssible as long as the world is run by lunatics.

BUT ... the code of ethics thing was a good question. For me, it would be not doing anything to anyone that I wouldn't want done to me. Consequently, I don't steal, cheat on girlfriends, murder, etc... Coveting my neighbors ass is fine (you should see her) as is taking your lord's name in vain on Sunday (especially during the NFL season).

As for your lawlessness comment, it would appear you are unaware that 75% of the violent criminals in US prisons are xtians. And that's not even counting the ones that were "saved" after incarceration. Of course, that could just be because atheists are smart enough not to get caught. [:p][:D]

That is a totally Bull-Shit claim I remember looking at the department of justice figures just last year. Thought I would bring it up on these occations. But 70% are athiests who do hard crime 15% profess to be christians of some sort (of which the USDJ includes groups like Mormons, Moonies and Romanst). Historically Athiests are cold blooded killers look at your guy Hitler.

I'm sure of that 15% maybe .1% are actully evangelical christians. But in the christian case unlike athiesm there is good news for law breakers, Jesus save by faith alone apart from any works of merit. Athiest don't have a damn thing to offer, exept do more time in jail or some wonderful atheist proverb like. "You live like a dog, you die like a dog, then you end up in a ditch" Wow what a wonderful message of hope that the athiest offer.[xx(]

It isn't bullshit and you know it. This is from 1997 (this is all I could find) but I doubt it's changed that much in less than 10 years.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons does have statistics on religious affiliations of inmates. The following are total number of inmates per religion category:
Response Number % ---------------------------- --------
Catholic 29267 39.164%
Protestant 26162 35.008%
Muslim 5435 7.273%
American Indian 2408 3.222%
Nation 1734 2.320%
Rasta 1485 1.987%
Jewish 1325 1.773%
Church of Christ 1303 1.744%
Pentecostal 1093 1.463%
Moorish 1066 1.426%
Buddhist 882 1.180%
Jehovah Witness 665 0.890%
Adventist 621 0.831%
Orthodox 375 0.502%
Mormon 298 0.399%
Scientology 190 0.254%
Atheist 156 0.209%
Hindu 119 0.159%
Santeria 117 0.157%
Sikh 14 0.019%
Bahai 9 0.012%
Krishna 7 0.009% ----------------------------
-------- Total Known Responses 74731 100.001% (rounding to 3 digits does this)

Unknown/No Answer 18381 ---------------------------- Total Convicted 93112 80.259% (74731) prisoners' religion is known.

Held in Custody 3856 (not surveyed due to temporary custody) ---------------------------- Total In Prisons 96968
I hope that this information is helpful to you. Sincerely, Denise Golumbaski Research Analyst Federal Bureau of Prisons

And here's England's stats from 1999 to further prove you wrong:

If atheism is so as you claim then who give a rats ass if you do these things (which are only good in a Christian world view). To a true atheist you just sound self-righteous. Actually to the bible Christian you sound self-righteous, bible believing Christians don’t boast in their own works but only in the work of Christ. But back to your inconsistency. In the atheist world view who would care if your behaving in a lawful manor.

I would like to thank Motors for living as if atheism was a crock of BS by uplifting lawful virtuous living thus going against the atheist grain and living his life as if the Christian world-view is true, that there are virtuous laws to obey and be accountable for. It is great that you don’t live up to your own atheist claim, “since atheists don't NEED a rulebook.” And live up to a higher standard like “Consequently, I don't steal, cheat on girlfriends, murder, etc...”

Now if we can get this superficial moral external behaviour to be touched by the grace of God so it can turn into an true internal godly reality in your life Motors

cheers,
xoxo

Also the statistic doesn't take into account the over all population of atheist relative to the general population. Remember when only 3% of the population claims to be atheist your not going to put up big numbers. When 85% claim to be Christian of some sort compared to 3% marginal number of atheist the larger number will bloat the over all statistical number. The better statistical question should be. Of the 3% of the population who claim to be atheist how many of them are in jail? Good chance that it will be more than 66% (2/3rds) rotting away in some jail cell for doing the atheist thing of lawlessness. If you look at the 85% populace who claim to be Christian 5% or less are in jail. Most of those so called Christians who are in jail are just Christian by name only not by conviction. And for those .1% who are in jail who are true Christians by faith alone through grace alone, God will still be true to his promise and save them anyway even though they deserve to be in jail. Hopefully these save Christians who are in jail will use this opportunity to witness the gospel to false poser Christians, cultists and atheists.

Actually you would be quite surprised as I was pleasantly surprised by the good many number complementary e-mails that I received during this discussion completing me on my conduct, whit, insightful responses, and my charitable demeanor in the face of bullying opposition. Those who share your views on me and my response are surprisingly in the minority. I do thank you for your zealous and enthusiastic rigor in our Evangelical vs. Atheist dialog. I sure with more academic study on the issue you will not in the future come across as so naive and rookie in your presentation or misrepresentation of my Christian position in your apologetics of atheism. Good apologetics does do it’s homework!
