Terror Plot Targeted Chicago's Sears Tower

Postby MARV » Fri Jun 23, 2006 1:09 am

"The "jihad" was intended to be 'as good or greater than 9/11,' beginning with destruction of the 110-story tower and FBI buildings, according to court documents obtained Friday by CNN. "

Geez.....

I'm betting the "Vlad The Impaler" approach to these guys would be an effective deterrent. Think about it, if you knew the punishment if you were caught was a sharpened telephone pole up the ass, would you contemplate this shit? Makes me clench my ass cheeks just thinking about it.

So far there was no real AL-qaeda connection and an insider(one of us) offered them $50,000 in cash??? I'm still collating on this one and waiting for more info before drawing my own conclusion while everyone else seems to automatically jump on the guilty train. Smells like these stupid low I.Q hoodlums were set up. This kind of stuff is designed to make wire-tapping, the war on terror & Bush look good.

I remember when all the skyscrapers got evacuated on 9/11. Everyone here in Chicago was convinced that the plane that crashed in PA was headed for the Sears. I used to work on the top floor of the Prudential building. I'd be shitting if I worked there now...
I agree with you 100% on that one.
While I'm sure these pukes were up to no good, the right wing talking points grist mill is in full swing to cash in on this latest Bush poll bumping 'counter terrorism' public relations bonanza.

So you're saying that they've been set up to take this fall for over a year now by the Gov't...and I thought Frayo had the good stuff.

Actually, I hope they are more innocent than the 17 arrested here. From what I hear, there's a ton (well, actually 3 tons) of evidence against the jerks caught here. The various Muslim leaders are falling over themselves procaiming their innocence, racial profiling, (whitey) and conspiracy (The Jews)

They (the Muslim leaders) even put their foot in it by stating that the accused were being painted as guilty by the media for the sole reason that they were Muslim. At the time however, the only announcements made by TV, radio and print media here was that 17 men had been arrested on terrorism related charges. No mention was made of their ethnicity or religious background. Kicked in the ass by their own assumptions (or prior knowledge?)...way to go idiots. Next time I hear the word terrorist, I'll try hard not to think Muslim...somebody has to.

Fuck, when will they just come clean and admit theirs is a religion of hate and intolerance. (like all religions are in reality)

BTW: The mother of one of the accused insists her son is innocent because "he wouldn't do such a thing". What a novel defence!! Too bad every other mother of a lowlife has already tried that one.
The big difference (at least with the info I've read so far) between this and the Canadian case is that there apparently is no ties with any local mosques. These guys seem to be wanna-bee's. Plus the FBI probably just fueled these guys fantasies (made it more real) by giving them a "little push" in the right direction. But I admit I'm short on information.

Besides, Canada made us look bad by being the first to uncover a terrorist cell [:D]. (After mostly right-wing talk show hosts and their followers accuse them of being "soft")

Sadly, they are right about us being soft...most will still probably make bail, and disappear. We'll bend over backwards to apologize, and beg forgiveness. That's Canada.

BTW: terrorists don't need to be affiliated with any mosque or Muslim organization. I doubt McVeigh looked good in a beard and sandals.

I'm only disputing how far these clowns would have gotten without the FBI "enabling" them. This one could be in the courts for a while. And if the FBI made one itsy bitsy mistake, these guys could walk or certain charges will be thrown out.

As of yet, I haven't heard or read of any real connection to al Qaeda. They seem to be al Qaeda "wannabe's"

If our government is so concerned about another attack in the U.S., they should implement some real border security so people can't come in our county when ever the hell they want!

So then lets get used to being attacked.
We can't or won't seal the borders?
depends on who you ask. Some don't think it's possible, other think it would cost too much. I say it's at least as possible as winning the war in Iraq and worth at least as much as the cost of the Iraq war.

In case you couldn't tell I think the money and effort would be better spent on our borders.
