That pic of her leg looks very similar to the landlady's leg in the movie "Kingpin" when she is rolling her stockings up after Roy Munson paid off his back rent. Yuck[xx(]

I'm going to resist the urge to click on the link based on the above posts.
I think that's wise to avert my eyes. You might as well.

That's awful!
And I can't believe doctors would just dismiss this and think it's all delusional. That's crazy.

That part in the middle of the article, about other witnesses "sharing" the delusion, reminds me of Ray Bradbury's Martian Chronicles. One story in there has the local Martians suspicious of the Earthmen b/c they claim they really are from Earth. The Martians wind up killing the Earthmen and then themselves b/c they feel that the Earthmen "shared" their delusion, or hallucinations, with the Martians, thus infecting them. Very creepy!

Hmm..It would appear that this would appear to be a classic manifestation of a psychosomatically induced syndrome.

The brain (if affected by physical illness or mental stress) has the means to create physical symptoms such as rashes, welts, boils, lesions & the like.

It definitely constitutes a bona fide medical condition that should be taken seriously rather than classified as dellusional or worse, dismissed as paranormal bunk.[|)]

I saw this on an "X-Files" episode with those tiny, dark creepy crawly thingies coming out of their skin. It looked more like soot than anything else...

I'm with you KYYX ... this appears to be very real. I've been following this one for a couple months now and I'm almost offended by the dismissive psychosomatic drivel by the medical community. There are clear and present physical symptoms that are actually quite bizarre. Multi-colored hair-like fibers that can rip from the skin like a string on a bag of dog food? Holy crap, that's weird! Anyway, doctors shouldn't simply dismiss the physical evidence like these fibers. That's like ... like the Bush Administration and Global Warming and/or practically anything else the rest of the world agrees on.

So far, it appears to be some sort of parasite with a "cotton" worm as a vector. The pathology of this thing is almost alien. Until there is more serious and halfway conclusive scientific research, we have somewhat fringe-y stuff like this to mull over:
