Love is a Battlefield is one of those bad videos that somehow turned into a classic, but I really never thought of it as a bad video, funny...yes. I think that Billy Squire video with him gyrating his skinny body non-stop in front of a very cheesy backdrop is one of the worst of all time. Dancing in the Street is up there too. Nu Shooz had some very hideous and cheesy videos which complimented their cheesy songs.

Any video that had dancing in it. Period.

Now, a guy jumping around with his guitar is ok.....but a bunch of people in the background dancing....nope.

Again, my opinion....no need to crucify me.

Recently I caught Duran Duran's "Wild Boys" video...It certainly deserved mention here in this forum. This video is perfect example of what people look like who take themselves way, way too seriously. In a way it it's held up pretty well--meaning that it was bad then and bad now. Quaterflash's "Harden My Heart" comes to mind, as well. Not only was the idea of a music video new to the director, but the idea of a video camera was pretty novel, as well. I'm sure there are soooo many others, but why state the obvious?

Billy Squier's "Rock Me Tonight" has got to be the most cringeworthy video for me. I sit in stunned silence every time I see it. I just envision the director telling Billy, 'No, really. It's going to be HOT. You dance around like a big old nelly-almost like you're afraid of a big spider. It's going to look soo cool. And then if you could wear a pink blouse that's cut out-and then rip it to shreds before you prance over to the camera...Trust me. It will be amazing.'

I think I saw an old VH1 interview with Billy saying that video singlehandedly ruined his career.
I can see why.

My second worst video of all time, and I kid because I love, is Squeeze's "Hits of the Year". HORRIBLE. PAINFUL. WRONG.

For some reason the Peter Godwin Images in Heaven video makes me cringe. Also, anything where Depeche Mode lineup in size order and sing.

And...Joy Division's 'Atmosphere'

It creeps me out. Though I'm not sure if this was released in '79 or '80...the guys wearing the white hoods ugh I can never watch this video when they appear.

The worst video I have seen must be Scandal -"the warrior". Decent song, but the video is diabolical!. I recall Patty Smyth cringing about it on bands re-united and saying she wanted to beat the crap of the make up artist.

Yeah I gotta admit it's not my favorite Duran video. Although recently I found out what it was about. That song they based on the book 'The Wild Boys' by William Burroughs. So the video actually makes sense once you know what it's about, apparantly it was gonna be made into a film but it never happened. It still has a Mad Max vibe to me though! [:p]
