*REQ* Luther Vandross

Discuss hard-to-find or out-of-print New Wave and '80s Alternative, and share a few songs along the way.
NOTE: requesting songs that are entirely unrelated to the genres discussed here or easily found on CD is strongly discouraged and posts will be enforced as needed.

I agree with what MikeP said. It should be kept in line with rare, OOP, hard-to-find New Wave, or 80s alternative. I know the lines can be blurred on what is New Wave and what isn't but the obvious smash hits that we all know from the NOW CD collection or from other umpteen CD compilations should be avoided. I think in those scenarios, perhaps the person requesting such a track should ask if someone "anonymously" could email them the track instead of posting it on the board and attracting potentially unwanted attention from the RIAA and other types. That way the site doesn't get mixed up in something that could prove ruinous.

Just a thought and suggestion on trying to find a middle ground.

Thanks Lundibleu ... I agree that if someone makes an obvious or "WTF" request, some other generous member can always email them through the board to provide a download link for them privately. You may find that I or one of the moderators may lock the topic, but that doesn't mean members can't contact one another offline.

I've been seeing a big surge in new sign-ups and I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that this free-for-all is now being indexed by Google and other search engines and a lot of non-NW-music types are popping in for a quick fix of anything, anything![:(!]
