So, did anyone catch this last night?
Any opinions?
I thought the Aussie and the young girl (too lazy to hunt down their names) did pretty well. There were several who were *terrible*!
It's not really my kind of music, but I'll watch it just to slobber over Dave Navarro [:D]

I saw it and I thought the Aussie (Toby) did a great job w/ Knockin' On Heaven's Door. I thought the guy that sang She Talks To Angels and the girl who did Somebody To Love were good also.

Overall, the rest of the field didn't seem all that great. I agree with the bottom 3 (the guy from Iceland who did Satisfaction, the guy who did Cult Of Personality, and the guy who butchered Roxanne) although the guy who sang Coldplay should be eliminated just on principle.

I also do not understand why everyone went crazy over Lucas, the last guy. I thought he sucked and had no business singing Rebel Yell.

Even though the INXS show was better, I'm holding out hope. It could be interesting watching these poor bastards trying out for a band which nobody has ever even heard play. That's gotta be tough.

I totally agree on the last guy (Lucas.) I really hated him. What was he singing anyways? "Roar, Roar, Roar?"

That version of Roxanne was pretty painful too. I sort of liked the woman who sang Lithium except when she had a seizure at the end.

I missed most of the middle of the show!

Well, look on the bright side, guys. No more Farriss brothers. I'm sure CBS are happy to have found some replacements who don't treat the camera like a deer treats headlights.

How in the hell did those guys ever make that many music videos with so little stage presence?

That's a good point. Tommy Lee has more personality in his (pick a body part [:D]) than the surviving members of INXS combined.

I watched some of it on Tuesday night. I didn't see the whole show but the men weren't too good.
I like Dilana who sang Lithium. I couldn't tell at first if it was a man or women singing. I never saw the Inxs show so I have nothing to compare it to. I missed who got kicked off last night.

Nobody got kicked off yet. They picked the bottom 3 and 1 of them will be eliminated tonight. It's on at 9 pm if you want to watch it.

i am hooked on this show. already.
zayra is an incredible singer. i have a cd of hers and i have seen her live. her performance this week was crap though. she can and will do better. she sings on blue october's "come in closer" off of the cd history for sale. check her and blue october out if you get the chance.

josh logan, who sang she talks to angels is fantastic. he needs to be big time. his voice melts me. en fuego.

The guy who did the Coldplay song.
Before he got the boot, he did Duran Duran's "Planet Earth." It wasn't terrible, but he still got his walking papers. It *was* a poor song choice--I mean, when he said what he was doing, the look on Jason Newsted's face was priceless. I'm sure the guy was trying to make a point, but making that point with that particular song in front of those particular judges was suicide.

Still, I wish the guy that did "Roxanne" the first night had been sent packing. I absolutely hate that song, and his especially shitty version has been popping up in head since I had the misfortune to hear it.

I thought the other 2 guys were horrible & deserved to go.

I don't understand why covering Duran Duran is bad but Billy Idol, Coldplay & Melissa Etheridge is ok?

I was pretty surprised at almost all the song choices the first night. Considering who the judges are, I expected everyone to perform songs that *rocked,* you know?

I know that a girl will never win this competition, but I thought they did better than the guys did, in selection and performances.

No girl could ever win? 'Cause Tommy Lee would never think with his dick, right? [:D]

Seriously though, I think you're right.
