Expanded Sharing Forum Idea...

Discuss hard-to-find or out-of-print New Wave and '80s Alternative, and share a few songs along the way.
NOTE: requesting songs that are entirely unrelated to the genres discussed here or easily found on CD is strongly discouraged and posts will be enforced as needed.

"If i can't get it at best buy it's rare. most of the 80's club material is out of print and imported. Is that rare?? Generally the only way to find this material is to a. go to a specialty shop and fear being hit on by some homo vinyl collector in his back room or b. find a DEEJAY who still has the records."[/i]

I agree, a bit of censorship would benefit this forum - not only musically. Homophobic comments like the one above should be considered unacceptable, as well as racist and sexist bs. Period. Its amazing how quickly this has gone down the toilet within the last couple of months. Then someone like Grunch shows up and saves the day (as well as the old guard, you know who you are).

Hey Patrick welcome back! I agree that we need to rein things in a bit here and -- while I'm opposed to any overt censorship except in the case of direct personal attacks -- I can do with fewer shallow, mean-spirited comments like that one too -- they are very telling aren't they? They certainly won't be speaking for the majority.[:(!]

I'll take the blame for setting the fiery, self-righteous tone right outta the gate here. We now seriously need to chill.

6400, when you are ready to start talking about New Wave music, I will be right there for you, chuckles. But having to witness your growing pains is quite frankly pathetic and boring. Have a nice weekend. [;)]

P.S. correction: "you're [not your] a fuckstick"..... very telling indeed....

On this issue conservatism is certainly the watchword.

This forum offers something special that is not available elsewhere at I think it would be best to make the definition of what is allowed as closed as possible to avoid confusion.

Sorry if this seems very negative but with the RIAA around, I don't want this place to go the same way as Torchomatic.

On the New Wave Outpost home page it reads "Where New Wave , Punk , Power Pop and Alternative live on" ! Shouldn't there be a sharing forum for each one of these music types so they can "live on" ?

Hey, apology accepted but think again before you resort to snide, baiting tactics right after I said to lay off personal attacks. Atriedesny is a longtime friend and I don't appreciate mean-spirited childish crap like that directed at him or anyone else for that matter, but hey it's a public board and your approval ratings are sinking.[xx(]

Before you know it, 6400 will have less board cred than Ben.[}:)]
