Hey all, I am a newbie too. I have to admit I do not have alot of new wave experience since I am only 20. But I am intersted in learning. Besides the Cars, anyone can recommend some bands I should start with would be greatly appreciated.

The Cars is a good place to start. That's the band I started with way back in the day. [;)]

I'm sure my friends here will try to steer you to cool but obscure acts, but I would suggest starting with the big names and go from there.

I suggest you go to Trouser Press Record Guide and simply browse around, reading about some of the bands and then pick a few that interest you and download some of their songs from Soulseek or Kazaa.
