Any other Payolas fans here? These guys were far more than just "Eyes Of A Stranger"-even though the song is a classic.
Desperatly seeking "No Stranger To Danger" and "Hammer On A Drum" in cd format. Can anyone be of assistance?

I am also a Payolas fan. I wish that I had the CD that you are looking for. I know there must be someone on this site with it. They used to get heavy airplay on the local new wave radio station,KROQ, but it was usually the same couple of songs.

Also have all Payolas, plus Rock & Hyde, plus Paul Hyde's solo CD's, some of which are very very good. It's a shame their LP's, other than Best of, have not made it to CD release. I converted all my Payolas to CD-R's, probably around the same time as that 'ol devildog. I always liked No Prisoners, Where Is This Love, and Christmas Is Coming from Hammer On A Drum. Many other great tracks from this exceptional band.

Ah Ha! Just the thread I was looking for. I can't believe only 4 members replied to it.

I recently rounded out my Payolas collection along with Rock/Hyde & solo stuff. Can't believe I waited so long. Loaded 'em all in iTunes, threw it on shuffle play - and now I'm in heaven! Four hours of bliss.

For a band that never broke mainstream, these guys are so good it's scary.

I absolutely love this band. I have all of their albums on vinyl, plus the Rock And Hyde CD and various Paul Hyde solo CDs. I have the best-of called "Between A Rock And A Hyde Place" that was released in Canada ages ago, and the "Millennium Collection" that came out there in 2003. I don't like most Christmas songs (I never need to hear "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" EVER again!!!) but "Christmas Is Coming" is my all-time favorite holiday song.

Back when VH1 Classic was actually playing viewer requests, they played both "Eyes Of A Stranger" and "You're The Only Love."

Their Millennium Collection is available from Amazon Canada. I'm kind of surprised The Ideal Copy doesn't offer it. Definitely worth picking up!

It absolutely floors me that their recordings, other than the best of stuff, have not seen a CD release yet. Simply sinful that these purveyors of perfect songs have been so ignored by the powers that be. Paul Hyde, an english transplant to Canada, has such a great and distinctive singing voice, and wrote instantly catchy gems. There is no such thing as a weak Payolas LP, or track for that matter, IMO.

Simply put--No Stranger To Danger is one of the 10 best lp's of all time. In my opinion anyway.

Any chance these guys will get all their stuff on cd some day? No Stranger To Danger and Hammer On A Drum both got worn out on the turntable back in the day!!! Still gotta thank Devildog for the cdr--gets lots of play to this day!!!!
