yeah, apparently you are.

poll 100 random people on the street about any of these songs and 90%+ will not have heard of any of them.

the defintions need to be clearly defined. this is the second time i have said this.

all of this is OBSCURE!

fuclosure - it's not about how well-known a song is.

Honestly, I understand that 90% of the world wouldn't recognize some of the stuff we talk about. The issue is the availability of it. If it's on a cd that's commercially available then it's not obscure, out of print or unattainable. By trading something commercially available - whether we like it or not, or agree with it or not - you're violating copyrights & we all know what happens when big companies decide to enforce that.

It's not about people singling you or others out & saying not to post music. It's the legality of what is shared in conjunction with the intent of this board to focus on new wave, etc.

No one wants to have this site on the RIAAA's radar do we? I know it's been said many times & many different ways - but that's my understanding & I plan on complying with the rules, (and, I am one of those people who shared not so obscure or on topic stuff in the past.)

I say the more obscure the better.

Why post a song that you can easily obtain off any download site?

This is a place where we get together to share sounds....not share the same 45 New Wave songs over and over.

Besides, if someone offers "Being Boiled " by Human League, I'd take that over "Don't You Want Me" any day! (I've got both songs, guys...I was using those as examples!)

I don't think this site should be a New Wave 101 class.
