Now we're talking! But puh-lease could someone edit the subject header with something like "Important! Please Read" or "To Post or Not to Post"... you know, something catchy to get the newbies' attention. They wouldn't be reading this if they don't give a shit about Giorgio Moroder or Phil Oakey.

BTW, have we all agreed what is appropriate for posting? Judging by the posts of some of the more vocal members, it would be track/s that is/are not available on itunes and Amazon. Is that right?

Amazon, Ideal Copy, Ebay, iTunes would be a great start. But chances are if your looking for something rare, you've all ready exhausted all resources, which is what brought to here in the first place. At least that was the way this forum used to work. Seems like in the last year or so people are having a hard time grasping these concepts and now need them explicitly spelled out.

Also just posting the question, "Is this rare or oop?" will get you pretty quick consensus around here since most of us have been collecting records/CDs since we were kids. People are very helpful around here.

I remember a website that someone on these boards suggested a year or two ago that listed tons of fair use albums, ones that were safe to download, etc.
I recall it had a search feature & pretty extensive album info. I really wish I could remember what site that was though! I tried doing search thru google & came up with nothing.

Does anyone remember that site?

Just one question, though. Is E-bay really included in the list? I thought the idea of not sharing songs that can be bought legit is so that the proper people can get royalties and such. I don't think paying $ 50.00 for a lousy album on e-bay for just one great track will make the artists/composers any richer by a cent.

I'm a more vocal member, but at the same time, I'm just a "johnny-come-lately" who's "harping from the peanut gallery, thinking they know everything that's going on", so you're better off asking one of the older elitist farts to avoid getting dissed [:D].

Hi. Thanks for some of the nice comments re: EMP remixes. Understand the sensitivity of linking to unofficial/bootleg remixes, but when the mixes are posted at Secrets/Electronically Online they are always with a disclaimer, the site and myself make no profit out of them and I do them purely to promote the band (and also hopefully get some good fan feedback + some additional MySpace friends!). Having met The Human League last year after their London show (and giving Phil/Neil Sutton/David Beevers copies of the mixes), they don't appear to object and if they or their management complained, I'd stop doing them pronto.
