Sometimes I don't know WHO around here has more knowledge of our music Spaz or Ollie-yes, good assessment indeed, oh spastic one.

It is interesting that the EP was an important part of the euro music scene for so long-one can find eps of most major artists who recorded for the continental or UK market ( idon't really know of the rest of the world-is/was the EP big in asia?.

I do suspect that the DIY ethic of the 80s had something to do with the EP really coming onto the market here in the states. When artists felt they had four or five good songs-they released them and didn't waste time and money on filler material.

Don't know how I forgot about them, but Nettwerk Records use to put out their share of EPs.

Best of them was Skinny Puppy - Remission. But they did others, such as the Grapes of Wrath, and introduced me to some worldwide bands by releasing EPs: Severed Heads, Chris & Cosey, Dole ... Sigh, the good old days [:)].

PVC2-Put you on the picture(this is the post Slik,pre punk band of Midge Ure.The title song was also covered from The Rich Kids,in which Midge joined once.)
The Damned-Friday the 13th(between Black Album and Strawberries Vanian and co, tried to embrace psych and acid rock under a pseudo-gothic,dark wave rock.The cover in Stones' ''Citadel'' is amazing,and also this was the start of the band's alter ego as Naz Nomad and the Nightmares.)
The next is simply a 3-song single from LA power poppers The Pop-Down at the Boulevard.Nostalgic feel in a pure punk/pop body.It's a historical one...
