Name That Tune Volume 14

Postby fritzb » Sat Oct 16, 2004 7:11 am

Name That Tune Volume 14 - 12" Edition[/b]

It's been a while since I put one of these games together (I've been busy with other things). This game can be called the 12 Inch & Remix Edition[/b]. While in past games we have deliberately steered clear of 12" extended mixes and remixes in favor of the single or album versions, this edition brings those gems of the dancefloor to the forefront. Some of the songs will be easily recognized; others bear little resemblence to their shorter radio-friendly counterparts. I'll be perfectly frank, some of these cuts are really tough to figure out, so don't be bummed out if you don't get more than half of them. If nothing else it will give everybody a chance to check out some hard to find mixes of great 80s tunes. [8D]

Unlike previous editions, there are 25 songs clips this time (due to the longer length of the clips). The game will still be on a 100 points basis (2 point for artist, 2 point for title). And no, you don't have to guess what version of the song it is, although you are welcome to try. There are 2 seconds of silence between song clips. Download your response form below and email it to me for tabulation when you're finished (my email address is on the form). Make sure to put your forum screen names on your answers, so I know who you are. I will send the Answer Sheet to everyone who sends me their responses (if you don't hear from me within 24 hours, I probably didn't get your email). Don't post your responses here!

Here's the link for the response form (my email address is on it):

Here's the song sampler link:

The game will end on Friday October 29 at 4PM EDT[/b].

Good Luck! [:)]

I played through the songs, and I must say fritz, that this is the most evil NTT you've ever put together. I think upon the first listen, I knew maybe 4. Or to put it correctly, think I know 4. Good job putting this one together!

And I can't wait to

Having replied and seen the answers to this, I got 38/60 to the ones I answered, which I'm quite please about. As for the other 10, 4 of the the bands I never heard of before, 4 were of songs by artists that I have heard of and two I should of known.

I like this name that tune the best so far! I got 53 and I am happy about that. But when you see the answers it is so frustrating because you know the songs! Have fun.

Game Update[/b]

Well we're only a few days into the game and the response rate seems to be pretty good, despite the apparent difficulty and relatively low scores compared to other editions. [:)]

Currently the average score is a modest 48 points,

Thanks for putting yet another together - I learn more and more about how little I know with each track. This one could be ugly!

Hey Fritz, truly cool NTT. Glad your back at it. The 12" idea was truly inspired.

Damn, I'm below average at 42 points!

Thanks Fritz - I really enjoyed this one (and blew a half a day at work trying to figure it out).
