The Tan - We're Hangin' Out

Postby Grunch » Fri Jul 14, 2006 9:33 am

Since I just posted thae track by The Start, seems only right to post this rare little gem by The Tan. This song is from a 2-track 12 inch circa 82-83, the flip side being We're Gonna Have A Party. Not sure if this band did anything else, but man, this track geatured here (We're Hangin' Out) epitomized the early 80s retro underground liverpool 60s beat that was happening here and there. I'd love to know if anyone has anything else by them, I've never seen anything else ever but this one 12 inch record. It's wildly, insanely 80s beatlesque pop heaven. Beatles aside, this is one fine, and fun song from start to finish.

AWESOME! I saw these guys at local conerts in Orange County (CA) around that time. One concert they performed wearing beach towels. They played a couple of originals and also dabbled in some Ventures and Dick Dale covers. A whole lotta fun.

Grunch, I'd sorely love to hear ANYTHING else you got of them. [:p]

I'll plan to burn the flip side and load it up soon also. I can really imagine them at a beach party, very lively, and raucousy jaunts into beach and party music. The flip side is actually quite a parting song..............Wwe're gonna have a party, a wild wild party......as the lyrics go.

Grunch,
To quote Pink Floyd.. "Well I've always had a deep respect, and I mean that most sincerely. The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think."

Your ability to introduce NWO'rs to amazing tunes via your eclectic musical intuition seldom fails to impress.

This track is no exception..[8D]

Bravo![:D]
