The Beloved - Slow Drowning

Here is a track from The Beloved when they were more tur to their Factory Records routes, with a more atmospheric, early 80s Factory feel. Later they certainly changed.

I had no idea about their earlier iterations. But you can see how this kinda stuff evolved into killer early 90s electronica classics like The Sun Rising and Sweet Harmony.

Their early work was excellent. I have mp3's of the two early singles "A Hundred Words" and "This Means War" but they have a bit of needle noise, so if anyone else has better, clean versions please post. If not I'll post mine anyway.

Here's the "Loving Feeling" single from 1988. Their first track for WEA and one that wasn't included on "Happiness".

Truly astonishing material you've been gifting us with, Grunch! This Beloved material especially, is blowing my mind. You really should be on the Hub, without question.

Their website, thebeloved.com has a ton of downloads -- unreleased material (an entire album), demos and remixes -- all good quality.
