Here's a great forgotten band, maybe because they were a Power Pop/Mod band; still better than The Jam! It's The Chords - "Breaks My Heart" from their self-titled 1st LP, which I picked up as an import in 1987 on Melrose Blvd. in LA for $4.99 at Renee's Music (which is out of biz now). I couldn't believe it, because Blecker Bob's (who rips people off, price wise) down the street wanted like $75.00 for it then.

Anyway, enjoy! And turn it up!!! [8D]

I've shared the live version in the past and after years of trying to reaquire the studio version, I finally have it. (Thanks Kevin , if your out there!!!) The Schemers were a local R.I. kickass band in the 80's that always put on a great show!

Hello randy,
The file in your link is no longer available. Is there anyway you could "repost" that song, Some fun (studio version) by the Schemers again?

Thanks in advance,
F. John

It simply has to be GREAT in your opinion and you're itching to turn the rest of us on to it and share it.

I'll start with Killing Joke's "Follow the Leaders". When I first heard it on KROQ, I remember thinking it must have been a great new track by Adam and the Ants. It's far superior to their all-too-common "Eighties" and has a great creative construction, crunchy heavy drums, kiler bass line, and defiant energetic vocals. A classic IMHO from 1981's "what's THIS for...!":
