Interesting, because I also heard "Romantic Dreams" on Mike's song of the Week, but did not care for it. Too sappy--not the love lyrics part, the music.

BUT "STATE OF THE NATION" IS ONE OF THE BEST SONGS EVER !! I could never find anything by this band, and part of me always wondered if the rest of their stuff sounds anything like "Nation". Huh.

Communication is probably the most new wave sounding track by Industry, well at least from their EP and LP I have, since I have not heard this earlier material. Wish I had a copy of it though!!!!

I love the song "State of the Nation"! A friend of mine has it on vinyl. Then again he has everything on vinyl. ;)

"State Of The Nation" is on at least two CD compilations that I know of: "Lost Hits Of The 80's" (available used on Amazon for like $50) and "Hidden Treasures" (new on Amazon for like $10!).

By the way, "Lost Hits..." also includes Stray Cats off-shoot, Phantom, Rocker & Slick's "Men Without Shame," a song I always dug and don't think (?) is otherwise available on CD.

State Of The Nation was one the best 80's songs. Way too cool.

<br>schwenko, before going back to storage, how about a CD-R swap of sorts?? It would be a shame to bury it again.

Currently my Industry EP is somewhere between NYC and Minneapolis, flying towards Mr Stench[:D]
I added a few other obscure vinyl slabs that he has agreed to digitalize as well (Richard Bone "Joy of Radiation"12 inch and Shox Lumania "Take off your shoes" 7 ").
Once I get the cdr back I will be able to offer "NYC Synth" to the NWO nation.

I just received the cdr from Ollie Stench, thank you Mr S! And thank you Mr hensoneno for your contributions!

I'll call this cdr "NYC Synth": track listing (as best as I can report) is:

Industry EP 1979 (synth, but not the candycorn of State Of The Nation)

1. Logging Time
2. Caribbean Cruise
3. Intransition
4. Ready For The Wave
5. Production Goes On

Richard Bone "Joy of Radiation" 12" 1983(this is more more synth poppy)

6. Joy of Radiation
7. Sordid Affair
8. Do Angels Dance
9. A Bit of Joy

Shox Lumania 1981 "Signals" 7"

10. Signals
11. (I have) No Shoes

Industry (much more poppy)

12.
13.
14.
15.

Richard Bone EP

16.
17.
18.
19.

Maybe Ollie Stench can fill in the blanks above.

I am willing to make cdr copies of this for NWO nation members. If interested please send me an e-mail at schwenko@ix.netcom.com with NYC Synth in the header.

I will request that you send me a blank cdr and a self-addressed, postage paid mailer. I'll then burn a copy, put it in the mailer, seal. and drop it in a mailbox. I want to avoid trips to the post office. Sorry, no hub for me[:(][:(][xx(]
This is really an electric mix and I think you find it very interesting!

Industry (much more poppy)

12.DNA
13.Turning To Light
14.Your Love Is Unreal
15. Make Hanna Whine

I think this is the running order, I'll have to check when I get home.

Richard Bone EP

16. Porno Soundtracks 1
17. Porno Soundtracks 2
18. Porno Soundtracks 3
19. Porno Soundtracks 4

I wasn't able to fit track 5 on the cd, so the "Dick Bone" is incomplete. Still highly listenable, I'm just making the collectors aware.

Just dug the cd out this past weekend. I really like the early Industry and the Richard Bone "Radiation" EP.

Anyone know if there is an Industry web site?

WOW

All this hype over Industry, I love it! [:D]

Actually I need to throw a tad bit of info onto the guys now myself, I own an EP by them and I believe it's their self titled one since it has no actual name to it other than "Mini LP/5 Songs" (White cover with little shape like figurines on it)

Now I also own an original 12" single of State Of The Nation which contains an album version and a single version

Can someone give me a heads up and let me know if this song was featured on another Industry album because the single version is the version identical to the EP version, and the album version is quite longer and different (about 4:30)

-Also I have both music video's Industry put out:
1. State Of The Nation
2. Still Of The Night

Thanks, Justin/DevoManiac101
