Sounds a bit like R.E.M. at their most poppiest. From their 1986 OOP self-titled CD, which was itself a compilation of their two earlier EP's. During their brief career members of the band included guys from The Bongos and Translator.

With the exception of a couple EP's you can get two full Winter Hours CD's and I think both mights till be pretty easy to come by. Saw these guys actually open for Translator in a small club ib Burlington, Vermont around 1984 - a great little club called Hunts. Nit sure it still exists but man they got some great shows back in the days. Nothing like a trip on the ferry over to Vermont, hitting Pure Pop Records, which was the mecca of stores for Vermont and upstate New York (way upstate NY, like 3 hours due north of Albany). After Pure Pop, which was never less than a goldmine back then, it was chow time somewhere on the square and on to Hunts.

Hey unguarded moment, you got me in a jangly mood, way to go. Now I'll have to post a few jangly gems, starting with another by Winter Hours, from the same CD - the track 'At A Turtle's Pace'. This was always one of my favorites by them, also love Island of Jewels. Thanks for setting my Friday evening mood - jangleicious.

Thanx for the tunes, I never heard these ..I had a CD by them with a great tune called Roadside Flowers. The whole album was darker than these tunes..I really like the sound of these..
