Remember 54-40? They had a song (I believe) "Baby Ran"? WLIR used to play them and Cactus World News... I see the new 2003 album (?) on itunes. Anyone have the older stuff?

They were played a lot on CFNY Toronto, great band! On a sadder note Hootie And The Blowfish had a minor hit with their cover of 54-40's "I Go Blind". I also recall seeing the (54-40) video on MTV's "120 Minutes". I've got some of the older stuff on vinyl, and their Canadian greatest hits CD "Sweeter Things: A Compilation.

Strangely, when they released Casual Viewin' as an all new album in Canada in 2000, The US got "Casual Viewin' USA", a greatest hits package with only a few tracks from the new album.

Hootie killed that song for me....but I'm sure it did a lot for 54-40's pocketbook.

We always get screwed on the US versions of CD's...I think they try to make things too commercial over here.
