The irony about file sharing is that it is just a more sophisticated (and easy) way to share music than the CD exchanges that we do.

I have no qualms about the CD exchange, though, because unlike the hub, it doesn't involve opening my computer to potential hackers, and I don't have the songs stored on my hard drive. I don't have to know where the songs came from if I have them on a CD

To hub or not to hub--only reason I havnt so far is my concern for space--how much space do I need? Nate sent me how to hook up months ago but I want to be sure I wont be totally clogged. ( Almost was about 2 months ago)

Interesting that so many of the companies involved with or owning Record Companies, such as Sony does, have a long history of making blank cassette tapes and recordable CD-R and DVD-R. Just what the hell did they think people would record on them??? Farti

With those points being made, I will now put my two cents in.
The mp3 music that I have is 98% of what I already own on Vinyl & CD.
The other 2% is a mix of out of print singles and some newer stuff
I resent the temerity of the RIAA having to dictate

I'm in agreement with Grunch on this. I pretty much only share stuff that is OOP or unavailable in the US. I will also share other stuff to give a band exposure that I think other's might like. I have no problem downloading new music that I haven't he
