Count me in as someone who loves to cook - especially italian. I think Marie & I should have a cook-off.

Marv - go to any convienience store that sells scratch off tickets. Hand it to the clerk & like magic, they will give you cash.

Like KYYX, I love rocks too. I have a ton of them along my porch window sills, and several cool ones that I arranged into a semi-patio area in my backyard, although "patio" would be the wrong word...it just looks cool.

I'm sorry to hear about Mrs. Egg.

This is fun! I have to start work again tomorrow afer a week off, so I don't guess I will be posting much....

I have to say I can't really cook well at all - I usually end up throwing whatever I made in the trash.

I decided a long time ago that it would be a really good idea to get a tattoo of the Stray Cats logo on my shoulder. I am kinda stuck with it now...

I get ill when I smell bad B.O.

The smell of garlic cooking is awesome. The smell of garlic on someones breath makes me gag

I hate when someone farts in a public place. Not the sound, but the smell. I might laugh if I heard it but cry when I catch a whiff....

I must find a good job immediately. I’m searching the online ads right now, and it’s mighty slim pickin’s. There are tons of low-paying jobs, but how can anybody live on that? What I really want is for a great job to just fall into my lap, so I can avoid the excruciating agony of the job search process.

I’m going through something similar to egg-roger. (Sorry to hear what you’re going through, egg.)
**Edit: I don't mean to imply that I know your situation. I *think* our situations are similar, based on what you've written.

I have never played a video game. Ever.

I like to play darts. The real, poke your eye out kind, not the wimpy plastic ones with electronic scoring. Somewhere buried in the basement, I even have my own darts and tournament-quality dart board. I’m not all that good at it, though. Until I get warmed up, my darts sometimes don’t even hit the board—it gets dangerous, LOL.

For the life of me I can’t program my VCR. I feel like the guy in City Slickers--Billy Crystal spends an hour on horseback trying to explain it to him, and he still doesn’t get it. We have too many remote controls and a cable box, making the procedure ridiculously complicated.

I love cities. I love the energy and diversity. Crowds and traffic don’t bother me. But I also love being alone in the middle of nowhere, with no one around for miles.

I like baseball. I hate football. I’m indifferent about basketball. I also like women’s beach volleyball.

Auto racing is not a sport. I drive, so does that make me an athlete?

I am a great cook, especially with vegetarian stuff and Chinese/Japanese cuisine. But I can’t grill a steak to save my life. I always overcook it until it looks like a hockey puck. An inside joke in my house is that "I suck at meat". I once said that (in front of company), when describing how I always burn a steak. It was priceless--we all laughed hysterically, except for my father-in-law, who didn't get the joke (thank goodness).

Like hexicon, I have adopted a good attitude about aging. I feel way better (physically and mentally) at 45 than I did when I was younger. And I love that I can still turn a few heads. Confidence is sexy, no matter what the age. I recently saw a commercial for a skin product, where Diane Keaton used the expression “aging authentically”. I like that idea.

I moved to the U.S. by way of Ireland when I was 8.

I Mel Gibson'd my birthright accent by the time I was 13. (I can't fake a legit mick accent anymore.)

Moving Hearts were my favorite band in the world was I was a youngin. I haven't listened to an album of theirs in 20 years.

I do regularly listen to their modern-day equivalent, The Young Dubliners, however.

I can mix practically any drink in the world without looking at a guide -- although I myself mostly drink beer and straight whiskey.

I have a bad case of the Irish curse.

Thanks to the one 2 entries above, I usually have a bad case of whiskey dick to go with it.

I'm "a complete waste of a linebacker's build." So said my old man.

Both of my parents are mentally ill. (Thankfully, the mental illness gene skips a generation. Well, at least I think.)

I've been dumped in every relationship I've ever had save for one. And she tried to kill me.

My name was once the punchline in a CBS sitcom.

I think Julie Chenbot's gig hosting both "The Early Show" and "Big Brother" is most disgusting case of nepotism since John Lennon let Yoko Ono take up half of "Double Fantasy."

I would like to see the next "Big Brother" house built on top of Les Moonves' grave.

I wrote over 50 songs back in the late '80s, most of which I think were pretty good, none of which anyone outside of South Boston ever heard. Most people in South Boston didn't hear them, either.

I don't know why the Showtime series, "Brotherhood," is set in Providence. Didn't the Melina Kanakaredes show already permanently destroy tourism there?

I understand the definition of a pedophile, even if "Dateline NBC" does not.

I think the age of consent in most states is about 5 years too old.

I lost my virginity to a 20-something-year-old... when I was 11.

I'm still laughing about the Police Tek Rape Shield Undergarments PSA. "Trust me, once you've been not-raped twice, Police Tek Rape Shield Undergarments have paid for themselves."

Self confidence and self image is everything. Nothing is more sexy than confidence. It builds the best character. And working in the fashion industry, I know it lets you pull of any look [:D] Trust me hon, things that build your confidence are an investment in yourself that pay off in endless dividends [;)]

People ask me how I can watch the same movie more than once much less want to own them. I say to them, "You listen to the same CD more than once, right? Or look at that art on your wall more than once, right?" Film is another artform that is appreciated more and more with repeat analysis. I almost would be so bold as to say that it is the most human of artforms. Film tells stories of our lives and celebrate our humanity. How we live, love, laugh, eat, chat, gossip, work, survive, play, cry, battle...everything. We learn about ourselves and eachother through the identification or rejection of characters. The exploration of our nature, our societies and our environment are celebrated in film. All these things we do are a celebration of life. Why not enjoy an artistic interpretation of it with beautiful photography, magnificent art direction, fantastic musical scores and convincing actors? I love movies. Almost as much as music [:p]

My favorite love song (for the moment) is from the Pet Shop Boys. Check these lyrics out - Miracles:

Clouds drift away
when they see you
Rain wouldn't dare
to fall near you here
Miracles happen
when you're around
Somehow the grass is much greener
Rivers flow faster and cleaner
Being with you
no matter where
sunlight breaks through
and suddenly there's
A bluer sky
whenever you're around
You always bring
a bluer sky
a brighter day

Thunder is silent before you
Roses bloom more to adore you too
Miracles happen
when you're around
The sunset is deeper and longer
The scent of the jasmine is stronger
Stray dogs don't bite
Birds start to sing
Lightening daren't strike
You suddenly bring

A bluer sky
whenever you're around
You always bring
a bluer sky
a brighter day
Birds fly
even higher in the sky
Sun shines
It's a new day

Get a Tivo -- no more programming, just hit record (or select for the future with 2 weeks of programing), or put the shows you want on season pass and forget about it... makes watching tv on your schedule easy.
I feel the same way -- give me a million dollar race car and I'll be a race car driver too. Do they consider it professional when they crash their car?

HOOOOOOOOOLD EVERYTHING!
You guys are too happy and you missed something. Eggs? Your wife left you or is seeking a new job?

I get depressed for about 2 weeks after seeing old friends.
I really think I missed out on alot when I was younger.

I am the enforcer at work.My boss calls me leutenant. He makes the laws and I make sure everyone follows. I make a great boss but I am much happier being number 2.

I could use some medication. I never slow down. Ask Marie, I have 5 things going on all at once.

I am loyal to a fault but do not break that "code"

I do not speak to my wifes entire family. And we NEVER visit them. There are some that are banished and can not come to my home. Trust me, I am in the right on this one and will not change.

I will listen to any kind of music. Any kind.

I didn't learn to ride a bike until I was eight years old.

I've jumped out of planes over 60 times.

I quit after a buddy of mine got splattered on his 100th jump.

I LOVE REDHEADS.

I LOVE BRUNETTES.

I LOVE BLONDES.

I LOVE BALD CHICKS TOO. Okay, I'm lying.

I was once left an manual eggbeater as an inheritance from a dead relation. WTF?

I turned one of my hobbies into a business. Now I'm sick of the hobby, and the business.

I get migraines often. Sometimes two a week.

Thanks, Marv. Those lyrics are beautiful. I'll have to check out that song.

My little bouts of vertigo last year turned out to be a bleed into the part of my brain that controls vision. I thought I had an inner ear problem. I lost vision on my right side. Than I started to loose weight, I got really weak, couldn't get any air. My red blood cells were blowing up before they matured and they couldn't figure out why. It turned out to be a drug I had been taking since childhood for another condition.

For four months I did doctors, x-rays, brain scans, blood tests. I was told I had weeks not months to live and I never told anyone.

plagiarism, HOLY CRAP. I don't even know what to say after that story.
Egg-roger and Manekineko, what is going on? I am sorry to hear about your situations.
Manekineko, I had always thought you were from a military family. But I thought it was your dad who was in the military. I remember the photo with you sitting on the car was in front of a base.
But in any case, sorry about what you two are going through.[:(]

I just brought my wife home from the hospital. She was in for two days of near-constant antibiotics after getting bitten on the joint of her thumb by one of our cats. Bacteria had reached the ligament and there was no other way to get it out. She almost had to have surgery.

I love playing Smallball Baseball online.

I just registered for the San Jose Rock n Roll half-marathon, which I will be walking, not running.

The stack of books I have bought and not read is an order of magnitude greater in size than the stack of books that I have bought and read.

I once worked graveyard shift in a hotel that may or may not have been haunted. I'll post more about this at some point, I'm sure...

I won my university's fiction writing award during my senior year. That was the first and (so far) last time I was ever paid for writing creatively.

I have a love/hate affair with music from the following artists: Prince, Nick Cave, and Charles Mingus. Love = this is one of the greatest songs/albums/arrangements ever; Hate = WTF are they possibly thinking releasing this?

We own two SUVs. One is big. The other is bigger. I know that pisses some people off. I don't care.

Thanks, Marie. I'm not comfortable giving too many details here, plus things are so up in the air right now that I don't know what's going to happen next. But suffice it to say, my life is going to change drastically very soon and who knows where I'll end up. Syracuse is looking kinda good right now. [;)] Hell, I'll go just about anywhere that I can get a good job. Maine's job market sucks. I've lost two jobs in the past year--it's been tough with two knee surgeries and abdominal surgery, and now I might have a stress fracture in my left foot, probably from running. Jeezus, what next? Some days I really have to work at being positive, but I have to believe that a positive attitude will determine my future. Good karma and all that.
