Now you gotta scrape the change off the counter top, trying to pick up pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters while juggling your item, your receipt and your wallet. Of course, everybody behind you in line has to wait while you do this.

Then the retarded cashier wonders why their frickin line is so long.

Hey Punjab, I put the money DIRECTLY in your formerly rickshaw pulling hand, now save us all some time and aggravation and give me my change back the same way. It's called common courtesy.

And no, I don't want a Slushie with that.

This makes me think of the retard at Sonic the other day. I went through the drive-thru to get a diet Dr. Pepper and when he handed me my change, it was a wad of crumpled bills and change. So I'm sorting this mess out to put into my wallet while he's standing there with his arm hanging out the window with my drink. And then he says "HERE!" I gave him the BMG Look of Death over the top of my sunglasses and continued to put away my money. I hope his arm got tired because I took a reeeeallllllyy long time to get everything straightened out after that.

Probably not my most mature moment. [:D]

Anytime I see someone driving while using their cell phone, I get so tempted to follow them and cram their phone up their ass.

I am convinced that New Jersey is the world capitol of such cel phone offenders. I saw no fewer than SIX such motorists yesterday. Complete oblividiots, straddling two lanes while babbling or doing fifty in the passing lane. I gain a perverse pleasure from reaming such morons with my horn and a dash of the high beams [8D] Get a freakin' headset!

<br>Shadow - I wish I could share with you a photo I took earlier this year with my camera (don't know how to upload those) of a parking lot at my client in Canada. The parking lot was set up so that there were two rows of spots that touched each other, then a space to drive through, then two more rows, etc., kinda like this: (imagine each twosome of T's is touching)

TTTTTTTT
TTTTTTTT

TTTTTTTT
TTTTTTTT

Each day I was there, some guy parked his car over FOUR spots. The center of his car was parked directly on the intersection of the horizontal and vertical lines. Not only that, he made sure to park immediately to the right of a lamppost so nobody could squeeze in to his left.

It wasn't a horribly crowded parking lot, so we weren't hurting for parking spaces. But still, the arrogance of this guy really made me wanna key his car (not that I'd ever do that to him or anyone). "You think your car's better than all of ours? Take THIS!" [}:)]

LOL, I used to own an old Honda Civic that I took great delight in shoehorning as close as possible to people like that. Lots of nasty notes were left on my windshield questioning my IQ. Loved every second of it, they were so clueless, it was like it was their right to park like that, and how dare I park so close.

Oh, Shadow, the temptation was overwhelming to park to the right of this guy's car, not leaving enough space between my car and his to pass a sheet of paper through. But I figured (a) there WERE several parking places around since it was a huge lot, and (b) when I later returned my car to Hertz, I didn't want to have to explain why all my windows were smashed.

Regarding cell phone driver oblidiots - I'm sure we all have stories like this, but about a year ago I was cruising down a road with two lanes in both directions, when a guy who was parked over to the right suddenly made a U-turn right in front of me. If I hadn't slammed on my brakes I'd have broadsided the guy. I laid on my horn as I braked, then I watched him as he went by to my left - he was on his phone, laughing and yammering away. Didn't acknowledge me. No apology wave, nothing. Justifiable homicide, if you ask me. Please ask me.

Of course, the person doing this may be of any color or nationality. I'd say that does not make them rude, they may not realize or know better. An elderly woman, maybe 80s, volunteers at our hospital a couple days a week, and she will do this with your money and have the biggest, kindest smile and nice words for you. I cannot translate her action even near being rude.....nor would I categorize her action based on her race. She is a sweet old woman trying to help people, and honestly, wherever I am, if someone does this, while it may seem a little annoying, in the grand scheme of things it does not ruin my day.

I screwed up yet another poll and looked at the results before voting, but... the last one. "Unfriendly treatment from service-oriented people (waiters/bank tellers/checkers/etc.)." What manekineko said. I don't expect politeness from the others. Although I secretely enjoy it when the rude behavior comes from an employee who relies on tips to make a living. Because then -- you guessed it -- I get even with that one-cent tip that lets them know I didn't forget. And if it was in a state with some 2 buck and change minimum wage for tipped workers and the place tips out -- too bad, so sad. The asshole waiter or waitress can give themselves a pat on the back for penalizing the rest of the staff.

And let me just suf-face this by saying that I tended bar on and off (mostly on) for 11 years, and I worked extremely hard for my tips. Never in a million years would I expect anyone to reward me for being a dick to them. (Half the time, they didn't tip anyway no matter what I did. But I digress.)

Reminds me of this incident back in Boston. (The minimum wage for tipped workers in Massachusetts at that time was $2.13, IIRC. It's still $2 something.) Stupid Masshole diner maid was on more than one rag, if you know what I mean. Decided to be a bitch to me and my buds -- on top of screwing up the order (and, no doubt, spitting in the food). I handled the tip. It was a penny, of course, because I was really interested in her thoughts. As we were leaving, she actually ran out of the diner and started bitching at us in the parking lot that we "forgot" the tip. I said, no, we didn't; we left it for you in that dirty glass of water you brought over. She screamed that I had some nerve, and I fired back, "Here's a tip, bitch. Maybe you should go back in there and smile extra wide for the next customer to make it up to the busboy and the kitchen staff that you fucked over thanks to your pleasant disposition."

The people who cut in line or talk too loud or don't say please and thank you or can't drive or park -- they're not relying on me to help feed them. So carry on.

"Drivers yammering on cell phones while oblivious to everything else on the road".

While all those choices are high-blood-pressure-inducing, I'd go with this one, b/c their actions and lack of thought may result in an accident, harming other people. When a person's rudeness could kill, that's the rudest of all the Rudey McRudersons.

I chose the last one about service people....

Everyone else are just ignorant knobheads but service people are paid to be helpful and nice. If they wanna be knobheads, do it on their own time!

Ya know, it doesn't ruin my day when somebody cuts me off in traffic, unnecessarily risking my life and theirs, because they just figured out that they're about to miss their turn.

But I could sure do without it.

Something tells me there's a high correlation between these people and the retarded cashiers who lay your change in the spilled coffee on the convenience store counter.

It is unlikely that generally inconsiderate people become model citizens once they get behind the wheel of a car. Sooner or later their behavior is more likely to lead to an accident. And if it is YOU they crash into, it WILL ruin your whole day, if not your whole life.

my response was specifically about the reference to someone pulling a rickshaw, the one who liad money on the counter. I meant no comments regarding the other people - cell phones, etc....to this day, I refuse to own a cell phone and be addicted to phone calls. I too get annoyed with people and cell phones, like they are glued to their heads, especially while driving.

I just thought it seemed a bit off to refer to someone laying change on the counter as was done, it seemed to infer they are of a certain skin color perhaps. And I do know an elderly woman who does this, and trust me,I cannot believe it has anything to do with her intelligence, her manners, or anything like that. I think if you watch some old movies, you even see it in some of those. Maybe people who do this have no idea how it makes others feel. I only see this woman with respect, change on the counter or not.

I think they should get back to what a tip was originaly intended to be. It's an acronym of for "To Insure Prompt Service". People used to flip the mai'tre d a couple o bits to make sure they got decent or deluxe attention, however I still have hard time paying in advance for service that I have yet to see if it is deserving of a monitary reward. It shouldn't be naturaly expected. If you give me crappy service the only tip you get from me is advice to get out of the industry. presumptuous oblidiots
