I do know what I'm talking about and I want more cameras. Thats how I feel. I was not condesending towards you but you really seem to be that way to me. I think issues through before randomly stating my views. Do you see how that can be taken as condesending? If you wish to personally attack me, please use the email. I would never mind a debate with a person that is respectful. Thanks, I look forward to speaking to you in a normal way. You do make good points but the wording around it turns my attention in other directions.

I wasn't trying to come across as condescending. My apologies that you took it that way. Please look at the post you wrote that I had responded to and tell me which of the two was more respectful. You can't have it both ways.

That post was not directed at you. I am glad we can talk and make these things clear. The board would be much better off if everyone could do the same. Glad we cleared it up so fast. Talk to you later.

See people, thats how two grown ups handle stuff.[:D]

Cameras are fine in banks, or places where high security is needed. The chances of cameras catching a crime is next to zilch, just look at the pentagon plane footage of 911 AND THAT'S THE PENTAGON! These days with computer graphics and animation anything can be put into them including false actions. They can also be confiscated by those of influence which is not fair for the rest of us. There is not enough watching over the watchers if you know what I mean. Living in a police state while Bush is President makes me VERY nervous. That would be the highest definition of a police prison state.
Speaking of cameras....I wish every corner had one. Here is why. First, one camera set up does the job of many cops. One person can watch many areas at once. Second, on my way home today I saw 2 people run red lites. 2! Running a lite is no joke and I wish they would catch every one of these jerks. I would feel safer with cameras everywhere.

Just move to the UK! Although it only half works as their are illegal immigrant rapists and murderers that have been let out of jail, go figure...[V][:(!]

And what did those "security" cameras at the Pentagon catch that day? A plane flying into the Pentagon !! No way were they gonna be able to stop that. I agree with what you're saying though.

Actually, I'd like to see crime statistics on places like London, the most heavily-surveilled city on Earth. Cameras everywhere. I wonder if crime dropped at all ? *goes off to look*

Its different here in NY. People want more cameras. It was in todays news. People are asking thier politicians for more cameras. They up the money for the cameras and the police monitor the cameras. Also they have helped(here) inj catching criminals. Yes after the fact of the crime but they were i.d.ed Yesterday there was another hit and run which is rampant in NY, anyway the guy hit 2 people and sped away after being chased. The cameras got the crime on tape as well as the car and plate #.

Neither. Both parties answer to a higher authority: The All-Mighty... Dollar[xx(]

Riddle me this, how does having camera footage prevent hoodlums from barging into convenience stores and shooting up both cashiers for a few measly bucks? This happened down in El Cajon and they never caught the animals who did it. How did having camera footage help that little girl who was kidnapped by that paedophile in Florida (only to be subsequently found dead days later)? We've already given big govt. more than it needs of our personal freedoms. Unless you like to have your neighborhood run like a maximum-security prison, I doubt giving them more of our freedoms will improve the quality of our lives.

I have no problems with cameras but I'd really rather just arm everyone.

AH! Now that is even better. But then everyone against guns will start to cry.
xxx-I get what your saying but if having them helps catch one crook, then its worth it. And they did catch the guy from florida that killed the girl. He was i.d.ed by a camera.
Well, whatever, I know we are getting more of them here in NY and I'm ok with it. Especially when NY is the biggest city and I cant even carry a pen knife. I want a gun but cant get one. All the hoods have them. I can buy one very easy but I want a leagal one. Never gonna happen here. Where everything is already illeagal. Thats why I got my black belts in the first place. They cant make that against the law. Or could they?????
