<br> "Papercuts" is very listenable. Good stuff!

"Papercuts" got me across the I-80 salt flats last week; the bleakest stretch of freeway in Utah. "Papercuts" and factory A/C, of course.

THANKS EGG !!

Also, thanks for the rocks, hee hee. I like the small snail-like ones. Very cool. They all reek of old history.
Your CD looks cool. I have never heard of any of those bands. This should be interesting. I'll give you feedback as soon as I listen. And will try to put together a great CD for you, too. Hmm.

I was so glad to finally overcome my CD burning issues I just hadta put together a mix disc for the gang. For well over a year every time I tried to burn a disc I'd get either a "failed burn" or a CD that skipped horribly at the far-end tracks - I have a foot high stack of scrapped CD-Rs. I finally bought higher quality 74 minute CD-Rs (hard to find, I hadta order online) instead of my cheapo brand 80 minute ones. Seems to have made all the difference (knock on wood, or maybe polycarbonate).

Many thanks egg! I just got mine today because it had to be forwarded to my new address. I'll have a listen on the way to work tomorrow. Although the little note about the Yankees was unnecessary [:(!]

For anyone else whose mailing list I may still be on after being quiet for so long, I am now at 18 Meadowbrook Dr., Easthampton, MA 01027, enjoying our first house.

Yeah, congrats on the house!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm going to be putting my mix Club CDs as well as other compilations I did up at my blogsite. I must have sent out a hundred CDs over the past two years and when it started getting to be a bit much, I started with the yousendit links. As you know, those expire after a week so that became a bit of a drag too. At Club Marv, they're up for good so those who never got them can just go ahead and grab them whenever you want. I already have the first two up.....click on the sig below.....

Gotta give huge props to Spaz for floating over some of his Songs that KROQ Forgot. It's nothing short of genius. I don't mean it's just chock full of great songs - it is of course - but he's dead bang NAILED the flavor of early 80s KROQ. OMG, this is an incredible celebration of the heavily power-pop influenced exuberance that made KROQ so insanely fun in its early days. I was on a roadtrip most of the week and these discs just had me completely amped every day!

But wait, there's more. Yeah, the majority of songs absolutely rocked...but then about every 10th song or so, something would pop up that was so hallowed, from so far deep in the recesses of my mind, that was so jaw-dropping that I thought my freakin' brain would melt from the sheer unadulterated stokedness of it all. Holy freakn' crap!!! I'm talking about songs I knew and loved but hadn't entered into my consciousness in 25 years! Stuff like...

Rain - Dragon
Chamber of Hello - Wire Train
We Can Get Together (US Mix) - Icehouse
City Bound (E Train) - Novo Combo
Helicopter - XTC
Picasso Visita El Planeta De Los Simios - Adam & The Ants
I Love It When You Call Me Names - Joan Armatrading
Absolute Perfection - Private Domain
Music for Boys - The Suburbs

Spaz, DUDE, incredible. I'm indebted.
