Sorry, I said quiet children in an earlier post, but I meant - does anyone have the Sprin in Fialta CD from Slow Children? Know where to find it?

Sadly neither albums were ever officially released on CD

Your best bet is to find a copy on either ebay.com or gemm.com

"Spring In Fialta" was released on their first LP which many classify as 'Self Titled' and their follow up was titled 'Mad About Town' which isn't AS good but still ranks up there. Both albums are a must have and there is even a 12" extended version of "Spring In Fialta" floating around which was released on Ensign records.

Slow Children released two albums in 1981 and 1982, and also released various singles. All songs were written by Pal Shazar and Andrew Chinich, with both albums being produced by Jules Shear and Stephen Hague. The first album had differing U.S. and U.K. released versions.

I think those are the versions from the MFV series, unless that guy did his own.

BTW, I had once asked Pal about these downloadable copies and any intent of hers to rerelease/remaster to CD. She apparently knows Kenneth and is fine with the postings but expressed no outward desire to revisit her old material. I really have to monitor her site better to catch one of her NYC shows. Next one appears to be at The Living Room on Oct 20th (unfortunately out of town, argh!):

Is the question does Pal have any outward desire? Or is it really, does anybody else have any? Because, I mean, obviously, Sony BMG couldn't care less. It's pretty much a case of who's going to be the first indie to ask to have it sublicensed. It doesn't seem to me like any of them have bothered to ask.

I wouldn't mind a 2-fer CD or perhaps a greatest non-hits, but I doubt I'd plunk down the cash for "Slow Children" and "Mad About Town" separately. Way too many lousy songs bogging down both of them. That, and I already own virtually everything of theirs on vinyl (save for the UK version of the debut, and, hence, "Malicious").

P.S. Kenneth, if you ripped those yourself, nice work.

Maybe they should be released through iTunes? Once the higher quality files are done, hosting them and selling through iTunes should be easy.

President Am I, Vanessa Vacillating, and Spring In Fialta are great songs and I never heard them before this year -- I'm 43 and sometimes it just amazes me how much great music I've never heard before, in this case 24 years later.

Thanks for these songs! Very clean job, tho us Macers would prefer plain old mp3s. I love their first album and am checking out the second one now. I agree Slow Children is due for a sublicense. Their stuff holds up really well. Very distinctive sound but accessible.
