Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas" Remade

Just found this out. Midge Ure is putting together a contemprary group of Brit-bands to remake "Do They Know It's Christmas" to be released in December. Interesting choices on the roster.

Thanks, yes, I meant 1989. (The original was re-released in 1985.) The only group who was in both Band Aid and Band Aid II was Bananarama, who by then was on the SAW roster. There were a couple of non-SAW artists, though: Jimmy Somerville, Wet Wet Wet.

I remember when the second one came out. I was working in a record store and no one bought it....well, a few did, but word got out that it was crappy and then no one bought it. I would rather have just sent the money in and never have heard it. [xx(]

Erm, not to sound like a cynic or anything, but I always wondered if they CARED that it was Christmas. I know there are Coptic Christians in Ethiopia, but aren't most famine-stricken folks in the Ethiopia/Sudan area Muslims or animists/other?
