I know there's tons of great cameos/performances out there, but the first one that comes to my mind is Peter Murphy at the beginning of The Hunger. What a fantastic opening.

Ryuichi Sakamoto and David Bowie in "Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence" not really cameo's though as they were the leads but still one of my favorite appearences of music idols.

I vaguely recall the March Violets appearing (performing) in "Some Kind of Wonderful." I wonder if John Hughes managed to include other cameos in his films.

I forgot about "The Krays." That was a great movie.
