I know you asked for three but 1978 to 1982 are my personal favorites.

I'm thinking 78-82, but 83 was good too. This gane is hard, how about the best 15 consecutive years?

But of course, without what happened before that, not of it would have existed.
Sampling really took off big during that time period.
The DX7 keyboard line for example, and so much more.
Some of what was originally new wave was starting to be more accepted and MTV was really leading the way.
