the holidays are comming very soon. i'm going to have a little christmas party over at my kids mom's house and i was wondering what would be some good 80's christmas music? oh let's say something like george michale or the waitrisses or something like that. any ideas?

I never heard Aimme Mann and Michael Penn- Christmas time. I would like to hear that one. Also I love the Cocteau Twins. I have to track down their version of Frosty the Snowman and Winter wonderland.

The first song I though of was The Pogues/Kristy MacColl song Fairytale of NY. That has to be one the most un-Christmas, Christmas songs there is! (but I love it) [:)]

Rhino and VH1 teamed up to release "Big 80s Christmas" a couple years ago, it's still in print. Has a lot of the songs mentioned here, along with Hall & Oates, Billy Squier, and some others.

Rhino also did a volume of "Just Can't Get Enough" dedicated solely to new wave Christmas songs, but it's OOP and not easy to find these days. Great songs by Timbuk 3 and Captain Sensible, among others.
