The Most Depressing Movie You've Seen

I agree with a couple of the previous posters.
"Leaving Las Vegas" and "Grave of the Fireflies", both depressing.

It's not that bad Philly from that perspective. I actually think you should see it. There's a lot of examination into justice and injustices as well as perceived justices, injustices and rationalizations. But no doubt, a depressing-ass movie with some seriously fooked up people, most of all Laura Linney's character I thought.

By far the most depressing movie I've ever seen was "Farewell My Concubine." I can't even describe how sad that movie is.

Also, I was pretty saddened when I found out that "Blaster" in "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome" was some retarded kid. I mean, any movie in which a retard is abused in some way is pretty depressing for some reason.

There was no retarded kid playing "Master Blaster". "Master Blaster" was played by an Italian-American living in the USA called Angelo Rossitto.
Mind you he was only something like 2'5" tall. I think at that time he was one of the shortest people in the world.
I know this because I met him while I was working on the film.

Yes a lot of the film was shot in Coober Petty. It's an opal mining town. It gets so hot temps reach into the 50's celsius thats why a lot of people live underground.

Coober Petty would have to be one of Australia's last frontiers the whole place dosen't seem real. It's just like a film set.
