vacation idea; Windsor, Ontario?

Postby British » Fri Oct 13, 2006 2:15 am

Here's the deal. Typically every 6-12 months I take a vacation somewhere for my sanity. My last vacation was 13 months ago to Amsterdam. Oh was that fun. Right now I don't have that much money. I was considering a trip to Windsor, Ontario Canada since it's a 6 hour drive away from the twin cities. I saw some news report about it in regards to the night life.

Is it worth my time to go there for a week or so? Or maybe even less time since I'll be drivin there?

A trip to Canada will really broaden your horizons. And don't forget to try some of the local cuisine!

This article gives some excellent advice for travellers to Canada or anywhere:

You know I'll try to hunt down the nearest Tim Hortons.

Then top off the evening with a trip to Harvey's. Maybe some artery-clogging poutine.

Ummm, are you serious?

No offence to Windsor but I've never heard anyone refer to it as a tourist destination. Why not keep driving to Toronto or better yet, the Niagara wine region?

Isn't it just worth the experience of being able to say "I traveled South to Canada!"?

Yes, I am serious, for I am that bored right now, and can't afford much for vacations. I've been to Toronto before and it's wonderful. But I want to try a different place.

Try to hook up with a Canadian woman. You can have a relationship, and they don't get all clingy.

Listen to zill, he knows of what he speaks. Windsor is basically an extension of Detroit...would you vacation in the Motor City?

British, maybe enroute to Windsor you could take a random off ramp into Detroit for a little drive around the inner city. Now THAT could prove to be exciting! Windsor could seem like paradise after such an excursion.

It could also prove to be his last vacation.
