Chameleons UK

Just another band that needs mentioning. "Less Than Human" is one of my all time favorites. Any other Chameleon fans out there?

The Chameleons should have been massive.

One of the many great new wave/alternative/indie bands from Manchester, England.

Yep, have their fist three LPs. Jangling, ethereal guitar atmospheres and beautiful intospective lyrics. Fantastic cover artwork by Reg as well.

They are my favorite band of all time.
I met them at now defunct "Northern Lights" record store in 1986 for their Strange Times tour. Alas, I was too young to go to the show at 1st avenue in minneapolis that night.

Perfume Garden and Second Skin are my top 2 songs.

On Hennepin Avenue? Or University Ave in St Paul?

I bought so much great music from Northern lights in the last half of the 80s.
This is a real shame!

Is Let It Be (across from Loring Park still around?

Another of my faves--hated the UK at the end.[}:)]

One of my alltime favorites as well - they win my vote hands down for the single most underrated "new wave" band. I just about wore out my vinyl copy of Script of the Bridge and finally replaced it with the CD release. Their Peel Sessions cd is one of the best "live in the studio" performances I've ever heard.

"Up the Down Escalator" and "On the Beach" got some good airplay on my local station in the mid 80's, as, of course, did "Tears". Speaking of "Tears", I absolutely love the new version on This Never Ending Now.

Anyone pick up Strip? I never got around to it and now it seems all but impossible to find.

I really like them, and would never had heard them if not for this site. Perfume Garden is one of my favorite songs.

Quite coincident with this thread...

There are many people I know who wax poetic about this final full tour. Seems not to be missed.

Ugh. Kinda crushing to hear this review...

http://www.music-dash.co.uk/releases/ar ... ?item=3446

But I don't know if there's any other high quality option on DVD, even if it's the 21st century version of them. I'd love to get Resurrection but past efforts at PAL VHS to NTSC DVD conversion have been dodgy. [V]

Ditto!

I remember when I was new here, I saw your name and immediately thought "Cool, another Chameleons fan!"[:I].

... and yeah, I hated that "UK" thingy too.[B)]
