Anyone remember a skit on SCTV with Ric Moranis playing a VJ..He played 2 videos. One was a Japanese band called The Plastics and the other was Talking Heads..There was another with John Candy featuring The Plasmatics...

SCTV, yeah - that was pretty cool back in the day... watched it religiously back in the 70's (beat the hell out of other Canadian programming of the time - like 'The Beachcombers'... although 'Kids In The Hall' would come 'round in the '90s and permanentl

Have I gone insane.......
Thought I was the only person on the planet, to know who the Plastics were, let alone know of the awsome SCTV appearance. I have it and the Talking Heads. Man oh man.

The latest SCTV DVD box (Vol. 2) includes the Rick Moranis/Plastics/Talking Heads skit, as well as the "To Sir, With Love" parody with the Boomtown Rats. Kinda pricey, but well worth it. I never missed an episode, back in the 70s and 80s.

Yea, I had an album by The Plastics with that song on it. Cant remeber what happend to it, but I still have my video with a lot of old videos from early Mtv.
