Hey, will anyone be generous enough to share some tracks from The Elvis Brothers? I used to have Movin' Up & Adventure Time on cassettes, but I'm sure the person who bought them at a yard sale I had about 15 years ago has since added them to a landfill. Anything buy these guys would be amazing to have. I know that both of these albums have been issued on one CD, but it's been difficult to come across. I've seen it for sale at used outlets online, but I refuse to the arrogant $$$'s that were being asked. "Hey Tina", "Shake It", Hidden In A Heartbeat", "Here We Go Again", "Full Speed Ahead", "Red Dress", Somebody Call The Cops" are some of songs I remember most. They reunited around '91-'93 and put out an album, but it was only OK. Anyway, thanks in advance if anyone would post these...

100% Awesome! I really, really appreciate it. I got into this band as soon as they came out and thought they were terrific. They were a more pop oriented Stray Cats, but nonetheless rockabilly. They had that boyish hitmaker look about them, but I guess no one really paid attention. Or maybe it hindered their careers. Who knows? I thought--and still think--they're a great band.

One of my all-time favorites, I believe I have every release from them! Graham Elvis sells on Gemm. I just bought some 45's from him so we'll see what UM posts, I have some rarities too!
I'll post some this weekend too if I get a chance!

I always considered these guys the American counterpoint to Rockpile. Some rock, some twang, some rockabilly. Listen to "Hey Tina" and tell me that it doesn't sound like something Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds would have done.

And don't say I've never given anything to you :-)

Wow! How very generous! It's always the greatest feeling to hear something after not hearing it for so long, you know? It ranks up there with paying off a bill and peeing after having to hold it for so long. I love these guys! Even though I grew up in the 80s and was as much a music geek then as I am now, I'm still discovering things that sounds as fresh today as anything put out today. While I was searching for Elvis Bros stuff the other day, I came across The Polecats and was blown away. Sorta like the rockabilly cousins of The Revillos. I tried the link for the powerpop site with Adventure Time, but could not figure it out. Too bad, cuz there was a whole load of good stuff there. Hey, I said I was a music geek, not a computer geek...

And here's a bit of trivia: remember The New Monkees? That mid-80s band they put together to try and capitalize on the resurgence of the original Monkees. Well, the Elvis Brothers were approached to play the band. But they didn't want to give up their identity. So they turned down the gig, but the New Monkees wound up doing a version of "Burnin' Desire". Here it is:
