I'm not sure why you assume that I have "Mexican Fears". I don't recall posting anywhere on this board (or anywhere else for that matter) about "Mexican Fears". It sounds like what you're trying to do by making that statement is equate opposing illegal immigration with some type of racism. If I understood your point correctly, can you explain how supporting legal immigration while being opposed to illegal immigration is considered racist?
You have a better chance of having your rights taken away by this current administration...Your home invaded and your property seized than by Mexican Immigrants bursting into your homes
I don't have a problem with Mexican immigrants or any other immigrants for that matter. Let's define the word immigrant, as a stand-alone term in the context of this discussion, as someone who has obtained or is in the process of obtaining the legal right to be here (eg, they have an H1-B, an L1, a visa, whatever). An "illegal immigrant" then is someone who is not following these processes. I'm opposed to the illegal immigrant, regardless of where they come from.

To repsond to your point, I'll replace the phrase "Mexican immigrants" with the phrase "illegal immigrants". Do I think the chance is higher of a home invasion or property seizure coming from illegal immigrants as opposed to the chances of it coming from some other group (government or private)? No, of course not. But do I think that illegal immigration (regardless of which country people come from) has a fiscal impact on my state's economy that personally affects my family and I in terms of the number and quality of services (such as education) that I fund by paying taxes? Absolutely.

I don't expect a "Deux ex Machina". That's the point of calling out the issue and pushing for change, before the whole thing falls apart. There is no Deux ex Machina.

You also seem to be assuming that I'm a Republican because of my stance on this issue. I'm not sure if I've stated which party I'm registered to on this site, but I assure you that I know people on both sides of the aisle who think the same way I do on this issue.

So, enough about me. Thanks for responding to my post, but you didn't answer my question about the whole lab rat thing. What were you trying to say with that statement?

Actually I was hoping you'd get that a Mexican could pose a bigger threat to me than your political nemesis. I'm not sure what bin you're throwing "people like me" into but if it were an illegal immigrant who did those Amish kids then you better believe it would make all your emotional arguments sound all the more silly.

By the way, "people like you" do sound like oversensitive, alarmist liberals. And stop being a pussy with this "I'm not anything" bullshit. Eight6, give this guy a nutsack. I'll pay for it [:D]

You didn't call me racist, and I never said you did. You did, however, say that I have "Mexican fears". Maybe you meant something else by that phrase. Anyway, all I asked was if you thought people who were opposed to illegal immigration were racist.

As far as the Republican thing, you brought up current administration policies and asked if I thought Bush was Deux Ex Machina. Again, maybe you meant something else by doing this, but it seemed like you were making an assumption about my political inclination or about the general political inclination of people who agree with my position.

You cited the murderous lab rat overpopulation case and compared it to potential human behavior. You hope we can be above it (and I agree -- I don't want a bunch of people murdering each other over resources). I now read your statement as an ideal or a hope, not as an implication or a proposed solution. Thanks for clearing this up.

Please Marv do not try to figure me out and "Label" me...I'm simply complex.[;)]
And in reality these things do not really effect me directly.

What should I care about Mexicans?? I'm not Mexican. I don't even have Mexican friends...I have nothing to gain & more to lose by defending them, but I still do.

Same goes for this administration... Personally I'm not losing anything, I have no children. I'm independently wealthy and can travel anywhere anytime. My stocks have gone up thanks to National defense and Halliburton has gone up thanks to Bush and yet I worry, not for me but for the rest of you and your children, again WHY? I just simply do.

XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN AUG 20, 2006 16:02:35 ET XXXXX

BUCHANAN DECLARES: THIRD WORLD CONQUEST OF AMERICA

**Exclusive**

“As Rome passed away, so, the West is passing away, from the same causes and in much the same way. What the Danube and Rhine were to Rome, the Rio Grande and Mediterranean are to America and Europe, the frontiers of a civilization no longer defended.”

So begins a new work of warning from Pat Buchanan.

And this time Buchanan goes all the way.

STATE OF EMERGENCY: THIRD WORLD INVASION AND CONQUEST OF AMERICA streets this week and is designed to jolt readers with stats/analysis of illegal immigration gone dangerously wild.

Buchanan warns: “The children born in 2006 will witness in their lifetimes the death of the West."

One in every twelve people breaking into America has a criminal record.

By 2050, there will be 100 million Hispanics concentrated in the U.S. Southwest.

Between 10 and 20 percent of all Mexicans, Central Americans and Caribbean people have already moved to the United States.

Every month, the U.S. Border Patrol apprehends more illegal aliens breaking into our country, 150,000, than the number of troops we have in Iraq.

[The book was ranked #571 on AMAZON's sales chart Sunday evening.]

Buchanan slams the president: “Concerned about his legacy, George W. Bush may yet live to see his name entered into the history of his country as the president who lost the American Southwest that James K. Polk won for the United States."

In EMERGENCY, Pat Buchanan charges the Mexican regime with an Aztlan Plot, a conscious campaign to use America as a dumping ground for its poor and unemployed, both to relieve social pressure and effect a cultural re-annexation of the American Southwest. La Reconquista, the reconquest of the lands lost by Mexico in the Mexican-American War, Buchanan charges, is underway.

The Republican Party, a wholly owned subsidiary of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, is in the grip of a cult called “Economism.” It is all about money now. The GOP worships at the “Church of GDP”

• Both parties are paralyzed by guilt over American past racial sins.

• Powerful Mexican and U.S. elites seek to erase America’s borders and merge the United States and Mexico into a “North American Union.”

In his controversial final chapter, “Last Chance,” Buchanan lays out a national plan to deal with the State of Emergency, before it makes an end of America:

• An Eisenhower-type deportation program, beginning with all illegal aliens convicted of felonies and every gang member not a U.S. citizen.

• A ten-year moratorium on all legal immigration, at the level JFK favored in 1958 -- 150,000 to 250,000 a year.

• A $10-billion, 2000-mile double-line security fence between the United States and Mexico, built with no apologies to Mexico City.

Developing...

Hey E-side...are you a part of the cult of "Economism"? Say it ain't so!

You keep placing me in groups "Trendy lefties" Does that make you comfortable?? I'm never a team player! And I never try to be trendy...I have nothing against the left and I don't view the word Liberal as a bad thing and neither should they. Lately the right have been so full of wrongs that it's almost embarrassing to be one and Impossible to ignore.

Hm. You don't view the word liberal as bad but you see the right as full of wrong. You're not a team player yet your comments as long as I've been on the board always cater to the left. From your completely allegiance-less platform, you take every opportunity to bash the Bush administration but no one else.....how exactly is that objective?

Did you bash Clinton during your prosperous years under his presidency?

By the way, say hi to Ben for me up on that fence [;)]
