I'm DJing again. Would you show up to this?

I'm referring to starting DJing, soon, on what will be a regular weekly night at the Jersey Shore area.

Here's what I want to play:

Lots of New Wave (big surprise)
A few "Lost Alternative Classics" (songs that aren't played anymore, that no one else has, etc.)
Lots of synthpop
Newer Alternative
Some Power Pop
Some dance
Some Punk
A little Ska
Some darkwave
A little Goth
A little industrial
Lots of 90's modern rock, that you don't hear much anymore
A smidgen of cheesy hair metal
One fairly popular 80's song now and again
Lots of requests
Rare music videos

This kind of music would be a pleasure for me to play, and I'd love to bring music to people that they couldn't hear anywhere else in the area.

What I DON'T want to play:

Rap-Rock
Emo Punk
Shoegazer
Psychobilly
Big 80's hits
Garage (whether 60's or now)
Grunge Rock
Music that has snob appeal, is inaccessible or is "too cool"

There are places which do this kind of music already, and I would be unhappy if I had to play this stuff, because I find it depressing.

Well, would any of you come to a night that I DJed that WASN'T strictly 1980's music? Despite commercial radio being a wasteland, there's still a lot of very good music from now and in the recent past that just isn't getting its fair shake.

If I could get there, I'd totally go to that! But I'm in Philly w/out a car. :P

Sounds awesome, though!

Well, I really like Shoegazer music. And to lump it with those other's is down right insulting. I mean to leave out the likes of a Lush or My Bloody Valentine, well the nerve. If I was at your club I'd give you an earful! [:D]

What, a guy can't get any Come On Eileen around there? It's gonna be cryin' shame.

Savethewave, if you'll spin "Lonely Hearts" by The Atlantics, I'll fly in, because I can't get my regular dj to play it here in Seattle.

I'm going that direct

Sure.. I have a list of all the Telegenics I own.. copies are also included on the list as well, but for the most part they are all originals.

Thanks, Justin/DevoManiac
