So I was having lunch at Carl's Jr. today (primarily West Coast chain - in some places it's known as Hardee's). Ordinarily I drown out the elevator music they play in the background because, well, it's elevator music. But this one song comes on and I think: this sounds suspiciously like "Nice Girls" by Eye To Eye. Sure enough - it was. I was listening to a Muzak version of an obscure minor hit from 1981. I'd have been freaked out enough hearing the actual song today, but the Muzak version? On the same token, I'd have been freaked out enough hearing a Muzak version of the song back in 1981 (since it wasn't exactly as popular as "Endless Love" or "Bette Davis Eyes"), but 25 years later???
That's the strangest song I've ever heard in a public place. Anyone else hear an obscure song in a bizarre place, or a strange instrumental version of one of your favorites (not including Pat Boone's "No More Mr. Nice Guy")?
